cjlai: wat macro lens r u using? super sharp and nice...
wah..BG grip for a230/a330/a380...am interested...but it seems onli can hit the shutter n not other functions rite?
Guys/Gals/Sifus...can you provide advice for the following?

Base on the above setting, for Camera position 1 and Camera position 2,
1. Which focus point should i use (for cam1, A/B/C/D/E?) (for cam2, A/B/C/D/E?)
2. What setting should i use for
a. AF mode (AF-S, AF-A, AF-C)
b. Focus point (Wide, Spot, Local)
c. Which mode (Aperture, Shutter, Manual)
d. If on tripod, (Aperture value = ?, Shutter value = ?)
e. if on handheld, (Aperture value = ?, Shutter value = ?)
3. For e, mayb is too subjective...but assuming Night time and day time.
Having problem with this cos dunno how to take these pictures...
Hope i can get some guidance...before i try again....
Thanks...
Hey, what event are you trying to cover blowsh?
I'm Assuming that its a meeting of some sort (so people won't be moving around.)
1.focus point (local) for camera A should not be on A (should be on the people on the either sides.) (But if you want to emphasis on A, then you should focus on A and use a large aperature to make A stand out more).
Cam 2 should be aiming to capture the faces of A,B,C,D,E.
I think you can try to take some pictures in between A & B.
b. metering (I personally prefer spot, but if all of them are wearing black suits, it will make the whites in your pics over exposed so know when to change to local metering.)
c. Aperture for me! Manual is hard if you want to capture those "special" moments.
d. & e. both are up to you. depends on the lighting of the room. If its too dark and your shutter speed goes too low, use a tripod or use a large aperture. If you have a flash gun, hand held FTW! as it allows you to move freely around without people tripping on your tripod.
Just my 2 cents, hope it helps =)

What i can say from the info u gave, is that its insufficient..
what event is this? who are the ppl? are there any importance of order of the seating?
1. Which focus point should i use (for cam1, A/B/C/D/E?) (for cam2, A/B/C/D/E?) -
refer to my question above2. What setting should i use for
a. AF mode (AF-S, AF-A, AF-C) -
AF-A should be sufficient b. Focus point (Wide, Spot, Local) -
i'd recommend Local c. Which mode (Aperture, Shutter, Manual) -
if lighting is fixed, use Manual, else, use Aperture d. If on tripod, (Aperture value = ?, Shutter value = ?) -
does not matter if you really ask this question, most importantly make sure shutter speed is fast enough to prevent motion blurring e. if on handheld, (Aperture value = ?, Shutter value = ?) -
same as above3. For e, mayb is too subjective...but assuming Night time and day time.
one more important question you forgot to ask... WHITE BALANCE. its one of the most important components amongst others.
got sifu lwliam answer d, I forgot to mention white balance! Yes it is the most important thing! You don't want all your pics to turn out with a yellowish tint right?
