some weird reply I got from SIS. I asked about the arrival date and retail price:

"Good day.

Yes, HTC Malaysia is confirming to bring in this model of Desire Z to Malaysia. However, this model will be offered via one of Malaysia telco only.

Thank you

Regards."

What does it mean la...

but is it going to be permanently exclusive to maxis like what happened to the iPhone for Digi and Maxis? I followed up and waiting for reply. Would be bad if that's the case coz ppl tend to jack up prices for phones that are available exclusively from telcos. iPhone 4, 2.5k, lol crazy... If Desire Z is gonna be sold at that price in Garage Sales then die la...

iPhone case is diff, since Apple only sell their phones to telcos.

in HTC case, the telco sign contracts to get special exclusive. (ya, the evil empire to take all their stocks.)

Holy... I'll paste my email and the reply for fear of misinterpretation.

"Hi,

Does that mean that the phone will not be available to standalone phone shops like how the iPhone is now, and only solely available as a part of a voice plan contract? Please tell me it's not.

Regards."

"Yes, at the moment the direction from HTC is to be bundled with voice plan "

Now the only hope is that this fella replying me actually knows nothing about SIS or HTC's plan... Buy RRP meh... lol Followed up with whether it'll be available after a certain 'exclusivity' period.

@4evernelson, i'll follow up with the HD after his next reply.

The reply was:

"We will update when the direction from HTC is being communicated to us."

LOL. I guess there's still hope for standalone phone shops. Hopefully.

Regarding the DHD:

"This model is more classical as we do not know when it will be coming in due to production capacity "

lol. I guess the SIS staff is fed up already. Reconfirmed if the ETA, availability to standalone phone shops and prince point for DHD and DZ is undetermined at the moment, he said 'yes'.

It seems from the video on GSMArena, the iPhone-esque magnifying glass thing has been implemented. Nice...

You are wrong most if us want the batter to last at least 16 hours that's all, yesterday I have to recharge my phine b4 i go to tt with my dear forum bros... I charge my phone daily and i have have back up phones or lines...
Is just like ur car fuel can last for only 20km just nice for ur daily return trip to work... but sometime u might need to go extra miles to do something u can't do it cos u have that limitation so what for?....

Still I think u don understand, I hope the juice will last my abuse on the phone for around 16 hours from 7am... Then it is nice...

mine lasts 16 hours. I dunno. All I know is that batteries behave differently for different people ... which is kinda annoying but unavoidable at the same time

there's almost no clear benchmark for batteries. and ya, most manufacturer dun cover their battery in warranty for long.

Added on November 13, 2010, 12:45 pmIf Desire Z really Maxis exclusive, I'm seriously considering getting an AP set...

Ur usage is low la... For their theme it is not ok... Business phone, so it should last the abuse of emails and calls...
If u read my previous reply properly that is my moderate usage and my wildfire with almost same amount of battery juice with desire z it does not last... FYI I use only edge (gsm) only for now...
Hopefully with new processor and s-lcd it does save a lil more juice for our usage... And with our 3G singal strength it suck more juice to swap between edge and 3g...
