Will it be more expensive than Desire? I don't see any advantage in terms of specs when comparing to the Desire other than the keyboard and its bad ass look.
It should be more expensive since it has a keyboard. Perhaps around Touch Pro 2 pricing?
Spec wise, the biggest difference is the Processor/Keyboard. Its based on the 45nm architecture, which uses less power, and it has the Adreno 205 GPU, which is 3-4 times faster than the older Desire. Based on early benchmark, it GPU is just slightly slower than the Galaxy S. We all know the old Desire cant hold up nuts against even the old Milestone when it comes to 3D games, what more to the Iphone 3GS, or Galaxy S. This new Desire will up the ante, and finally put it up against those heavyweights.

Interesting material... I would actually love to see a similar design with aluminum body, but without the physical keyboard
I know you're going to say Legend but the spec is too low for modern smartphones now
If you want the alu unibody without the keyboard you can consider the HTC Desire HD

. 1Ghz snapdragon 45nm with Adreno 205 =D.

hate to say it, but I have to agree with you. These smartphones Ghz just keep climbing.
There were days where 300mhz was like 1ghz to us.
And now those guys are comming out with 1.5Ghz dual core....
Sometimes, I look at my computer and say, "man, one day this phone's successor might have 4Ghz..."
This 800mhz overall is faster than the older 1Ghz snapdragon seen on the old Desire

. Some speculate that it can be overclocked to 800mhz.
But well if you want a 1.2Ghz snapdragon phone, you can wait for the HTC Verizon world phone. It has a keyboard too, but it most probably will be only for Verizon, so you might need to purchase it overseas or via AP.
