No need to argue about the battery life... it sucks, I'm using wildfire with my usage it can't last 16 hours of my working day but I don expect it to last that long with 3G on... the worst is I'm using gsm network also it won't last that long...
my usage it is sync company mail hourly, sms about 10 msg, about 2 hours talk time and small amount of time for gaming or surfing online... last till 5pm left 20% or worst 10% only...

I plan to get either desire z or hd. hopefully the battery life will be better...

Wah talk like that, as u know forum is for discussion...
For me, It defeat the smartphone purpose if u need to carry spare batt... Enuff said... A lot of ppl complaint about the battery life, means that is a fact, don mean that there is no such problem if it is enuff juice for u to last for a day or two...

I Jus thope there is a slightly better batter life for smartphone...

lazy to charge, then don't complain lolol and I agree with khalpowers
*
You are wrong most if us want the batter to last at least 16 hours that's all, yesterday I have to recharge my phine b4 i go to tt with my dear forum bros... I charge my phone daily and i have have back up phones or lines...
Is just like ur car fuel can last for only 20km just nice for ur daily return trip to work... but sometime u might need to go extra miles to do something u can't do it cos u have that limitation so what for?....

Still I think u don understand, I hope the juice will last my abuse on the phone for around 16 hours from 7am... Then it is nice...

mine lasts 16 hours. I dunno. All I know is that batteries behave differently for different people ... which is kinda annoying but unavoidable at the same time
*
Ur usage is low la... For their theme it is not ok... Business phone, so it should last the abuse of emails and calls...
If u read my previous reply properly that is my moderate usage and my wildfire with almost same amount of battery juice with desire z it does not last... FYI I use only edge (gsm) only for now...
Hopefully with new processor and s-lcd it does save a lil more juice for our usage... And with our 3G singal strength it suck more juice to swap between edge and 3g...

Battery life is really that bad?
*
yes it is bad but if you are not a heavy user like spunk it is ok... at least 1 day full use...
don be mistaken by her statement decent use... yesterday my Wildfire last more than 16 hours (on GSM only not 3G)...
the condition is my talktime less than 1 hour and there is not much emails flying around yesterday coz i'm sick and lazy to talk and reply mails...

imagine both phones is having the same amount of juice available (1300mAh), Desire Z with bigger screen and keypads... but it's CPU claimed to be more power saving...
i for seen any one in sales or customer service field can easily use up the juice within 10 hours if heavy usage on 3G network...
so 16 hours on heavy usage (on 3G network) is impossible to achieve... even on GSM network is barely there...

a view from a heavy user with the usage of at least 30 calls/day, approximately 2 hours talk time... Sync weather, Gmail and company email hourly (of course i download some attachment and read them too)... 10 SMS/day... sometimes surf/gaming a lil 10~15 minutes... in total my phone will be awake approximately 25% of the time (6 hours/day)... if i on my IM chatting it will be worst...

last said... they should put 1500mAh battery in but not only the battery similar like wildfire which is just a entry level android... finished...

It's inconvenient to take a charger. And not every location is a charger-friendly area.
*
andrew there is some ppl expect u always can get power connection all the time...
and those ppl that never really intensively use the connectivity they will never know how fast u can drain the juice... i heard of some ppl need to charge twice a day to get a high end smartphone running thru out the day... sweat.gif that is really maximum utilization...

it is the FACT that they should put more mAh on the battery of desire Z and HD... a lot ppl is asking for that especially working class which run around outside the office a lot... even older SE X10 has 1500mAh battery but surprisingly the Desire family does not have it...

wondering where they bought it and how much...

he said around RM2200...

QUOTE(BuFung @ Nov 21 2010, 12:10 PM)
my point there is ...  if the battery can make a bit bigger isn't that good?  1800mAH maybe...  and it can stretch it to maybe 24 hours...  that is more than welcome..   maybe not for u...

u ON ur Wifi/GPS/bluetooth all the time?  u sure your phone can last 16 hours with all that ON??  if not try not to give those mislead info....

there are a lot more phone wt the same function can last well more than 16hours..  more than 24hours..  or even more...  not those "brick" u talking about....

Added on November 21, 2010, 12:12 pm
ffuuh.. mic..  U always have the very first hand source...

no longer can contact u in ur BB..  no more using?  or block me?  laugh.gif
*
fren, their 16 hours use is nothing for a guy like me... average my wildfire can last me 12 hours on GSM network but not 3G, and my use is on heavy side and their kind of use is low to moderate...
try to surf net on your phone for 30 minutes u will see how fast the battery drops, especially those without mobile site or more simple site for smartphones... yesterday morning my battery drops 30%++ just from 8am till 12pm... coz i'm using chatting program (since 8am till 12pm), surfing agoda.com for hotels (about 45 minutes) and calling some one (about 30+ minutes)...
or download some attachment in emails and read documents and see... u will realise that the battery life goes down... and my phone brightness is not even 50%...
i duno why they don agree that we need a bigger capacity battery which make the phone last long... really another 200mAh really helps sometime but if it is heavier by 10g is it really important??? i used a Sharp 903 (JP Phone) b4, and it weights about 140g... and i don give a damn of it where i can get good camera and ergonomics value...

i think no need argue with them as they think their usage is great, but there is a lot more others ppl runing around outside needs more...
cheers...

y always singapore sell cheaper 1???
*
well u know la... they went thru a few hands more mah... importer, disty, seller.. blah blah blah...
after conversion of the SG price, Desire HD is RM2132 and Desire Z is 2090 in SG... that is RRP not yet discount...
Desire HD u might still can find discounted price about RM2100 la but Desire Z is exclusive Maxis leh... so don hope for discounted price unless you sign for their data plan...

further more if stock is limited then prepare to fork out more to get it...
Wildfire some shop outside is selling RM1288 sweat.gif where it should be RM1199 RRP...
