Woot i have some questions for you since im considering that route too:

1) Desire Z ROM vs Stock G2, which you prefer and why?
2) Once flashed to DZ ROM, is there any difference at all? All HTC sense function working well?
3) Does htcsense.com work? As it, does it recognize your phone as a DZ and allow you to use its services without any problems?
4) You got the loose hinge batch or tight hinge batch?

Thank you in advance!

Which ROM? Not sure yet but I do like the HTC contacts integration
Difference? What do u mean? All sense function as normal.
Duh I just mention I can register my phone to htcsense.com, mind u I register thru phone instead of pc. All service is working.
Just watch some YouTube video bout the loose hinge, and mine one is not the loose batch sweat.gif

Sorry for confusing you!

I meant, did you prefer the original G2 UI or do you prefer the HTC Sense UI once you've flashed the Sense ROM onto your G2 smile.gif

Could you use the htcsense.com's locator, sms/contacts backup and phone lock? =D Those are the important ones in case your phone gets jacked.

Good to know u got the non loose one =D. Hopefully HTC fixed it. I can really consider getting the G2 then smile.gif

Ah I see what you mean now, well it all depends on you regarding the UI. For me I kind of leaning towards the HTC UI cause of all the integration and also the camera extra functions, you can find out what I'm talking bout in YouTube.

Yeap the locator works just fine, even my sms and contacts sync automatically when I first log into HTC sense using my phone. Like I said everything is the same as HTC desire z out of the box.

Btw once loaded the HTC desire z ROM the keyboard key "WWW. , .com" is unusable rclxub.gif still waiting for the dev to rectify this issue.

I don't think it'll become loose at all. Been flipping it open and close numerous times tongue.gif

Added on November 14, 2010, 10:11 amBtw found a neat function on the keyboard, basically the control of copy, cut and paste! Instead of ctrl, I got to press "menu+c" to copy, "menu+v" to paste, etc..

to everyone that wish to buy HTC desire Z.. please think carefully whether you need a physical keypad.. personally i like android.. but if you dont mind using window phone7.. go for mozart or trophy.. even hd7 is cheaper compare to desire Z

the keypad is fine.. just when you are typing.. sometimes you will accidentally touch the screen..
there is other bugs too such as sometimes you can't end calls.. and many more which i currently can't remember.. htc emphasis on htc sense when promoting on this phone.. but till now.. i'm not really sure of the purpose.. lol.. and the fact the phone be shout down and start in a few second is bullshit..haha.. the hinge is fine.. is pretty cool.. instead of sliding.. it pops.. lol

So whether is worth the money.. is up to you.. personally.. i like it now.. so far so good.. besides certain bugs cause whatever technology stuff there is always a bug..

i know i'm kinda out off topic here... sorry..

well yeah, it's a hinge/lever, not a slide out - which means it should last longer. as for the copy pasting I just hold down the screen and select COPY and then PASTE lol

now it feels like I have the money, but the official distributor of HTC (SiS) doesn't want to take it!

Narako: get for the Desire Z if u wan HTC Sense. Get the G2 if u wan vanilla Android.

Both phones has AP sets now. It's only matter of preference now.

err but will 2g and 3g work here?? and would g2 or desire z be more popular?
cuz now g2 seems to have lots of tweaks already like over clock to 1.9ghz
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=839687
and desire z seems to be dead.. is it because htc haven releaased it in other countries?

Desire Z unboxing and screen comparison with Desire HD.
The Z's screen looks much better in my opinion.

Another thing mentioned in the video is that the loading/booting up times between DHD and DZ is that the Z is faster. Even though the DHD has a better processor and RAM.
