QUOTE(imjoejack @ Dec 27 2010, 07:47 AM) Purchased Desire Z at Sunway Pyramid Maxis Roadshow Thursday 16th Dec 2010 morning. Was Customer #1 on that day. the promoters didn't even have the spec sheet for Desire Z yet. 1st time experience with Android, not as idiot proof as Iphone4. I prefer the Android for the widgets and range of settings possible. Also ability to download and install apks. only -ve comment is that the Desire Z heats up when using Wifi. And I still need to learn how to extend battery life. QUOTE(michael9413 @ Dec 27 2010, 09:24 AM) I'm new to this smartphones as well, never use any of them including iPhone. The battery drains so fast and I think I need to buy the in-car charger. Guys, any recommendations? Can I just buy any brand from any shop? |

QUOTE(spunkberry @ Dec 27 2010, 09:29 AM) i read somewhere actually please drain the battery b4 u charge it for the first few times... it helps you to gain slightly more juice... for the charger you can get any car charger with Micro USB connector... if you get those Mini USB pls get a converter... I got my HTC Ori car Charger FOC during a promo time for my Wildfire, it is ori with Mini USB but they provide me a Micro USB converter... |

I use the Friend Stream, Whatsapp, Yahoo Messenger and sometimes I use the Car Panel applications. My 3G has stopped working since yesterday, maybe today my battery will last longer. LOL

Mine's surviving for 16 hours average after a week of usage, with adequate wifi and angry birds.
If want even better battery life, root it, flash it with custom ROM, then underclock the CPU for when screen is off. Still testing this theory ATM. I read from CPU Tuner readme that the default CPU configuration for Androids is 100% utilisation all the time. Pretty dumb if you ask me. |

Okay I know why my 3G service was down since yesterday. My Maxis account is barred? WTH~?? I only get to use my new phone for just 2 days? I am so going to call Maxis and burn them with fire.
Added on December 27, 2010, 2:31 pmOn the bright side, my phone battery can last longer without 3G. This post has been edited by boris: Dec 27 2010, 02:31 PM |

I am re-using the USB car charger that I already have which was previously used to charge my Nokia. Even the Nokia mini USB cable is compatible.

Hrmm I have 10% left after 28 hours, with JuicePlotter saying i still have a bit more than 2 hours to go, with sporadic wifi and solid 1 hour of NFS. Might want to start reading up on undervolted kernals.
Starting to get obsessed with battery life. Not a good thing... This post has been edited by DJFoo000: Dec 28 2010, 03:05 PM |

Finally, i got my own DZ unit today from Maxis... For those from Penang, Maxis Seberang Jaya still have probably about 1 or 2 more units available...
I just can't wait to test the unit tonight... |

Hi all,
New DZ user here. 2 questions.... do I have to register the warranty with BrightStar? Is your Maxis set comes with "HTC Locations Premium Navigation Voucher"? All DHD comes with it. I tried the navigation on DZ and it starts a 30 days free trial period. |
