Hi all i've bee using M2 since April, the mileage is already 38k.. so far i had not experienced any default with this car, love the car rclxms.gif .... but then again i had to change my tyre because i ran across a pot hole, my rim got bent and had to be fixed rclxub.gif... since last week i heard a slight friction sound, i think it was from the tyre but donno, anybody experienced it?? will go to SC this sat
*
khairikun, i din meant all M2 has problem nor problem as mine. Mine could be the first. And not deniying the common problem M2 has, why not this.

it is a good car, fun to drive. bt wat i wrote is wat am facing wit M2 .

perhaps a visit to SC again could resolve the issue, bt if does not, would be a last ride then.

So far my M2 is ok, only at during the time between 1st & 2nd service it happen steering shaft problem. I went to SC few times, 1st repair didnt last long, problem come back again. 3rd repair SC replaced an improved version for me then problem solved.

As i mentioned earlier, the problem annoys me is the plastic sound on dashboard. No matter how i do the noise is not going away. SC also tried but still the same. Now even metal shaking sound is heard inside dashboard. I feel bad when someone in my car ask me why my new car not even 1 year aldy heard this kind of weird noise, even proton may not happen like this....... cry.gif

ah ic .. so far my gearbox is ok lar ...

1 more thing i wan to ask u guys regarding the "hold" button . does this work as Over Drive like other cars ?
i tried it n i found out this ...
1. when i was driving like 40-50 km/j then i press the button , by right it will down shift ur gear rite ? but mine is up shift .
2. if i was driving like 80 or 90 km/j above n i press hold then it will down shift .
3. at traffic light ( car is stop ) , pressed the hold n wan to accelerate  , but i feel the gear is heavy , off it then the gear will down shift n i can accelerate faster .

from my previous car , my OD wont act in 1. n 3. like i stated above . so does the above thing apply to our m2 ?
*
To put it in simplified form:
when on "D" mode 4th gear, press hold will down shift to 3rd gear. when you reached lower gear such as 1st or 2rd then wanna accelerate, it highest gear it will go is 3rd gear.

when you're on "S" mode 3rd gear, press hold will down shift to 2nd gear. when you wanna accelerate it will not shift higher than 3rd gear.

On "L" mode 2nd gear, press hold and you end up on 1st gear all the way, it will not change gear at all. This is good when going down slopes in car park ramps, shift to "L" with hold, and no need to keep pressing the brakes while driving down.

touch screen with built-in GPS and DVD player cost RM3000 smile.gif
as for the alloy pedal, unsure with the cost~
and even if got, it needs to be screwed on like the picture below
well, i don't think it is necessary to have the alloy foot rest for mazda 2.....however it will look like a nice complete set haha~ i'll update here as soon as i get the details

picture below is taken from Mazda 6 2.5 smile.gif

I would prefer the foot rest as eventually the capet area will be worn off by our shoes

My steering was heard & felt with slight knocking (kook kook kook...) when making sharp turn, especially when doing parking in low speed. Ipoh SC (Chin 3S) told me there were 6 other M2 facing the same problem and Mazda was sending from Japan some improved version steering shafts to solve our problem (during my 3rd repair). The 1st time SC repaired for me by tightening the steering shaft & rack. But after i drive for a week the knocking sound came back. 2nd repair they change a repaired unit for me, but still not last long. Until the 3rd repair, a new improved version shaft installed & the problem eliminated.

I believe this is a different case from your steering problem where u feel it's getting harder. I didnt experience a harder steering when my steering got knocking sound problem.
