Surprisingly the PQ average at 32+ and the AQ 5-6+, sorry i am not trying to promote pirated BD but just for info. But best is to get the original. I still support the original.

If using 50GB, I believe is same quality as origin source as no re-encode is required. I don't care on ahem now, as I already fully support origin now. smile.gif

Thinking of getting a portable 2 TB HD and connecting it to C5500 via the USB to watch movies. Is this possible ? Have tried it with pendrive. No problem. Wonder HD is still OK.

Must the files be in WKV format for BR ? Prefer the same format as on BR disc.

Thanks.

You can use HDD, i never try on 2TB, bit don't seen it not support, I had no problem in 1TB HDD.

What you mean WKV? Is it MKV? This just extra great digital copy format. It can direct play from HDD, no need burn to BD (Blu-ray Disc). They is no standard short form as BR.

Sorry for my mistakes, WKV and BR.

If I can get the BD format file (not MKV) onto HD, can I still play it via C5500 USB ?
Thanks.

When I offered to you to test out the BD-ISO and BDMV, you didn't accept the offer?

Hi, i just joined Lowyat.net and this is my first post.

I bought Samsung C5500 at Onking Bandar Puteri Puchong 2 days ago after failing twice to get in it HLK Puchong. According to the salesman at HLK Puchong, no stock thoroughout HLK branches and there's only 1 display unit selling at RM 399 at Taipan. According to him, there'll also be no more stock intake cos this model is discontinued. So, after getting tired of shopping around for the player, i bought it RM 460 at Onking.

I also managed to hack it into a Region free player using the method used by other members here. I think the open and close tray step can be skipped.

Now, here's my problem. I hope all the sifus here can help me out.

1. When i play Blu Ray and mkv/avi. files (from external HDD), sometimes there's a "pop" sound and the screen blink a bit in white..then ok balik. then not too long later "pop" again. Playing dvd doesn't have this problem. Any recommendation how to fix this?

2. Also my player doesn't comes with an HDMI cable. Is it normal? I bought a 80 bucks HDMI cable from the shop.

1. The same thing happens with my unit. There is a 1-2 sec pause before mkv playback (in fact the tv says 'no signal received' at this point of time), then the playback resumes. I'm not sure if its a problem or not, but I've lived with it.

2. That's strange, my unit came w/ a free HDMI cable. Did you get a brand new, sealed unit? Please check with the store you bought it from.

1. I don't have issue of "POP" when watching BD. I do have every few second at start of every MKV file not displaying the image.. around 2 to 3 seconds then it just appear.
2. My previous purchase also didn't came with HDMI cable. I bought a RM 30 HDMI from computer shop biggrin.gif

I don't see it mention at box, and it is seal, that time I buy is RM 399 only, on last year December, and it only came with a stupid composite cable.

Thanks guy for the respond. The "pop" sound and image distortion is a bit annoying although not very frequent.

About the HDMI cable. The box is sealed but i asked the salesman to test my unit and do the necessary setting so that i can just plug and play at home. He also opened a later model to borrow the HDMI cable and battery for remote control. My box only contain the player, remote control (no battery), user guide, warranty card...i think that's all. No cable at all. I asked the salesman why no HDMI cable, he said this model doesn't come with HDMI cable but the later (more expensive model) got. I'm sure it's not the test unit cos he demonstrated the player to me using the test unit and it's quite old already.

Andrewtst - I respect your bluray collection. glad to know there's an art film kaki here. Days of Heaven (Criterion Collection) is a must buy!
