i think he sold out ler.. just keep searching for C5500 in the garage sales, you might find a few sellers there..
i dont have a media player but i can say, it looks better than my acer 1830tz hdmi.. i think a dedicated blu-ray player will always have better PQ than pc, media player even ps3.

QUOTE(VeeJay @ May 30 2011, 05:46 PM) I dont think the firmware has any bearing with the supported ext drive size. If its working now, then it should work after the upgrade as well. PS: I havent made any test on external drive yet...will do soon, but I only have 1TB. Just did.. it works no problem with 2TB drive.

QUOTE(kayly @ Jun 25 2011, 07:12 PM) i was told by samsung sales representative at best denki klcc that the new model bd-c5300 have similar feature with bd-c5500, with additional faster booting and external harddisk capablity playback....any comment from forumer here that get this model? the price also seems attractive at rm499.. well.. the c5500 also can support external hardisk playback.. the only gripe is the need to use .srt (subtitle) for mkv playback (other players can support embedded subtitles), and some mkv files cannot be played (coded problem?).
