I get mine from STYLE LASER AUDIO SDN BHD in Tmn Connaught from Mudah at $399. Last week i bought only left 3 new units. You can call the shop to ask. Other audio visual item here also have bargain price for Xmas n new year. So far I see that it is more cheaper. Sam LED 40 around $3k.

Added on December 29, 2010, 12:38 pmjazzabel29 - Mine also the same. It seems the player still route audio thru the HDMI even we update the audio option to re-encode and using optical cable. Really hassle. First time on the player, i also jump from the seat, due to tv audio not tone down.

Anyone know how to disable the audio thru the HDMI.
My old HDMI DVD player, once the audio option set to coax, then the HDMI audio automatically mute.

Do anyone know where we can report any bug/ issue and request to Samsung for our beloved BD player.

Issue so far,
1) no subtitle if the subtitle is in MKV fiel itself (no download anime hehehe).
2) audio abit low, have to rev the amp abit (still okay with the new fw).
3) Sometime there a lag from the remote with the player.
4) Lip sync issue for certain title or format.

But still a great bargain BD entry player. Recommend for 1st time BD player or anyone that not into pic/sound quality much.

What I meant was I got my C5500 from HLK Balakong for RM350. You asked for other HLK within Klang Valley and after giving you the info, now you say it's far from Setia Alam

samuraiiii79 - I do not have PS3 to compare, but this is entry player. Anyone who want the best pic and sound or have money to burn should go for mid or high level payer instead.
From what i hear, sony produce better pic as BD was original from them. But the lowest I can find S370 (the latest sony entry BD player) is about $590.

What i mean based on the price / feature, quality, this samsung really a bargain.

For any new user, 1st time you on the player, please complete the auto setup. Very easy.
Then update the firmware to the latest one. Only then you can start to use the player. Out the box, the internet tv cannot connect to the internet. After you have update the fw then you can.
Samsung seems regularly update the fw and it free tongue.gif

I cannot find the option to disable the audio thru the HDMI on the Samsung. If you use HDMI to an AVR, there is usually the option not to send the audio to the TV on the AVR. So if you use the digital optical output to your amp, you have to mute the TV. I suppose any request or bugs should be channlled to Samsung; users in this forum may be able to give only tips and share our experience.
I am not sure the lip sync issue is due to the Samsung player or the source itself. Usually there is adjustment for this in most AVR if this is an issue.
I find the Samsung adequate for normal viewing of BD and the PQ and AQ is very acceptable; I suppose you can only see and hear the difference if you do a side by side comparision with a higher price player. On its own, it should be OK for most people except for high-end users (who would not be buying this entry level player anyway). Cannot really complain at this price. thumbup.gif
Just my views.

Don't worry about the PQ, I do check before I purchase.

Everywhere is given this player excellent in Blu-ray image quality & I am satisfied in Playback PQ not only the BD, but also DVD upscale & .MKV

If it not given great image quality, I won't buy nor recommended.

Shop sent it last nite after delivering the TV to inlaws place. A short and brief review only. But for only 300+ a pop it is really tremendously cheap. Wife did not believe until I showed her the receipt. Thought I had erased off the 1 in front. Ha ha.

Setup was easy and fast. Updated also to latest firmware. Need to use Thumb Drive. Unable to detect if it was on the HDD.

Pro's
Loading Time - fast
Video quality - good
Audio - ok

Con's
Audio quality - PCM was still the best. Bitstream was very faint - funny though. Have to turn up to very high levels.
GUI - scrolling of movie files need some time. Icons a bit too big.
Disk loading tray is a bit flimsy.

Summary - for this meagre amount we are paying and getting a disc and media player together in a combo like this, we cannot ask more anything more.

Question: can the USB port behind (for the Wireless LAN adapter) be used as another USB to HDD port. That way we can connect the HDD behind the unit. It also looks neater.

Wait till you have to buy Bluray disc. And before you know it, those disc cost far more than the player. Furthermore, even if are willing to pay, they are not readily available. That's why I decided not to get a Bluray player and instead, gotten a good media player.

Maybe people here wants the player because it can also upscale their current DVD collection, whereas media player's can't.

And besides, even if u have a media player, where do u get the movies from? wink.gif

I bought it last week. Don't ask for recommendations for other outlets in Klang Valley (which you did - read your own post correctly) if the perimeter of your world is only within Setia Alam.
