thanks to you, now I know that AVG really sucks. Poor Czech programmers. I'll try Trustport later.

but got to respect, AVG is the only company that has free antivirus software, with all around protection. well don't count support. Free software aren't supposed to get support anyways.

I do not have good experience with the AVG.

I prefer bit defender free edition when it comes to free AV.

hehe...im using EAV + comodo firewall...i think this is good enough.

anyway, i suggest avast+ comodo if u looking for free AV.
btw, if u can understand chinese, i can recommend QIHOO and Keniu to you. BOTH OF THEM ARE FREE, as u can c, theire RAP test result is quite good enough.

Qihoo(360) is using bitdefender engine + their own cloud engine, 2 engine.
Keniu is using kaspersky and their own cloud engine, also 2 engine.
here is a latest test in China(PCHOMG电脑之家),quite detailed, c can take a look.
http://tech.sina.com.cn/s/2010-11-03/11364823385_2.shtml

lets c the ram usage part,
Attached Image

and this is when u r scaning virus

anyway, CPU usage is more important.

Trustport is using Norman engine with different GUI and no other modification. How can it be so much different?

VB100 cannot be trusted.

Im not quite sure, previously me also using Avira, no complaint etc. Now Im running on Server 2008 & looking for free AV. So, I try AVG 2011 & to my surprises, it can run. I havent try others yet since AVG already installed & running. AFAIK, free edition AV wont run on server platform coz of licensing issue..

That statistics is not accurate at all. Shouldn't ESET CPU usage is so high while idle. But those china program(exclude 360) is really quite lousy la. 360 nowadays is also waste resources, even its forum also say like that.

Hi, I have already full of fire with my current antivirus KIS 2010. When it detected other program that like virus, (it is not virus) it auto restart my PC without warning. I very hate this, not that all, the first time I run the update, the update file size about 60++ MB, already updated 2 hours still haven't done...

So I planning to use another antivirus, - Avira. Is it ok? I heard my friend said it quite good... I am also using now, the free version. If good, next year I will change to premium version...

Polish Tank? Poland just starting to replace their indigenous tanks with other Western Tank such as the Leopard Tanks.

Back to the topic.

I still prefer using the proven technology for now like Kaspersky. I might try out that later. Thanks for sharing.
