prolexues
Nandroid consume alots data, but its a tru absolute backup & restore
*
Oh, I see. I never try stable version before.
Hmm, maybe I should reflash to the stable version and try.

QUOTE(yolk @ Nov 23 2011, 04:17 PM)
Just downloaded and tried tytung's ICS yesterday. Despite it not fully working its interesting to see what ICS will feel like on the HD2. When fedup just do a restore to previous NDT Gingerbread  thumbup.gif
*
Yup, I second enCORe's opinion.
We should wait till ICS to get stable and everything is working.

Just read tytung's ICS 4.0 page. He just updated to beta 2.
Beta 2 (Nov. 24)
Included the real audio fix. (Sound is perfect now.) (Credits to firesnatch and texasice.)
Fixed Calendar Sync (Used Calendar.apk from Paul's leaked ICL23D dump.)
Removed the softkeys. (Only framework-res.apk is modified.) (Credits to texasice (aka drewis).)
Changed ro.sf.lcd_density to default 240 and included Nexus One Gingerbread 2.3.6 GRK39F release-keys in build.prop for best Market compatibility.
Changed to Desire Gingerbread's stock default.acdb (129,346 bytes) (CRC: B0DCA53A)
Added PPP data connection support to MAGLDR and set it default. (PPP is stable than RMNET under ICS ROM currently.)
Added Superuser.apk v3.0.7 and updated su and busybox.
Added the latest hosts file (October-13-2011) for blocking ads.
Removed Camera.apk.
Improved the performance.

Not Working:
USB Mass Storage
Camera
HW acceleration
Headphone jack

4 fix to go ...  well I dont expect much for ICS, currently theres another ICS from sporststar, same bugs

they trying their best smile.gif
*
Actually there're 3 ICS. All of them are ported from Nexus.
So far, tytung's ICS is the best because he has been porting from Nexus ever since Gingerbread.
Others may have started to build ICS, but soon, respective individuals will build differently in future.

QUOTE(ae8za @ Nov 25 2011, 11:18 AM)
Hi HD2 peeps,
Finally after almost two years on WM6.5 with my HD2, I've decided to port it to Android. Bye2 Dutty's... smile.gif
I want to do the NexusHD2 NAND flashing by tytung. Do I need to perform task 29 like I always did every upgrade of Dutty's? Any help and tips would be appreciated... Cheers! wink.gif
*
You just need to perform Task29 whenever you reflash to another chef's ROM or changing from MAGDLR to CLK or vice versa.
Task29 means it'll completely clean and delete all your MAGDLR installation, settings, partition and ROM.

If you're upgrading from previous version, you just need to clean Dalvik cache and clean battery stats.
All your settings will be remained.

Anyway, you've made a good choice. WM sucks. Android rules! rclxms.gif

EDIT:
Damn it, I dropped my HD2 on a rough cement floor. Screen cracked.
It costs RM320 to replace the screen. B*stard!

gosh andy sleep.gif ..
HD2 is strong but unlikely strong like gorilla glass , anyway where do fix it ? RM320 is quite cheap actually ,,,
*
I sent to my friend to fix.
Yes, in fact, I dropped my HD2 a few times, but on smooth mosaic floor. Nothing happened until recently, no thanks to the rough cement floor. sad.gif

so andy HD2 is going ICU for transplant surgery,

Anyway latest new from ICS is now has Hardware Acceleration, whats left bug is USB mount, camera & earphone jack fixed. smile.gif
*
Haha, yeah, something like kidney transplant ya.

Yup, tytung is lagging behind. sportsstar89 is leading now.
Anyway, there're still a few annoying bugs according to their working list, eg. Audio on Bluetooth and WiFi signal missing. sportsstar89 added A2SD onto ICS too. That's what I want.

yeah Im gonna wait too, in the meantime I just play with MIUI theme ICS wannabe  laugh.gif
*
Cheap, but it's in KL. Pointless if I send here and there. If the courier-man doesn't know how to handle and simply throw around, risky also.

Yeah, same here. I guess I'll tahan a bit.
Now waiting for my phone to come back. Cannot tahan.

*
I remained my Android. Not intend to go back to WinMO.

Anyway, after replacing the screen, the phone makes me feel good, but I've a problem here.
The front LCD screen is not as sticky as previously. Really different.
I can even peel the front LCD screen off.

Thinking of sending to others to repair my front LCD. Sigh...

man, what an awefull news , thats would cost more money =(

Ya, no choice. I send back to my friend to repair first. If still cannot, then only I send to others.

1. The front LCD is not sticky as usual. My friend said it's due to the glue.
2. The keypad button is not responsive and I feel that the buttons are not at the right place.

EDIT:
My phone is back from hospital! Back to good working condition.
Screen is very responsive and sharp. Very nice!

hows your phone going now ? have you think to jumping to other phone ?
*
Running good, but I think my proximity sensor has some problem. And the screen sometimes got problem too. Need to lock the screen and unlock, then everything is fine. Sometimes it'll occur many times.

My next phone will be HD7, provided that XDA people can crack and port it.
Otherwise, I guess it'll be Galaxy Note, but wait till the price drops first.

This is one of 100000000000000 reasons why you should be the next TS.
More and more HD2 users are here, so need you to list down all the users and remake the guides.

EDIT:
Did you install NDT MIUI normal ROM or ICS ROM? There's a weather widget on lockscreen, and I can't seem to find the setting. The temperature shows 79 degree Celsius and city is wrong.

i laid my eyes on HD7 earlier too, but i think, its better to get phone which is build for that particular purpose is better.
looking at lumia 710 for WP and nexus prime as next android.
agree
notworthy.gif

anyway, i found out that for those paid apps, as long as using the same gmail, those paid apps is still downloadable for free. even changing new phone or flashing diff ROMs.

so i can keep my 10sens App for a very long time  laugh.gif
*
Actually, HD7 specs is almost the same like HD2. But the problem is developers are not really interested in HD7.
Cool to hear that paid apps can be re-downloaded for free, that's why I love Android.

QUOTE(cruzzmz @ Dec 15 2011, 09:27 PM)
will do the review tomorrow ... see what is the batt life with fb app, email, g+ etc

all the app that i am using in sgs2 work just fine in hd2 ics.

down side :
1. Camera not working yet but dev is like working on it
2. wifi tether have to use 3rd party one
3. usb mount also 3rd party

as far of today usage, no fc or reboot smile.gif

maybe ill throw in a video also if i am not lazy  sweat.gif
*
Ya, just be patient. They're fixing, and soon, I guess everything will be fine after new year.
WiFi tethering to me is not so important. USB mount and camera is extremely important.
Bluetooth in-call also important to me, when I'm driving.

after months of using dorimanx rom...now i switch back to NexusHD2 rom d...the latest dorimanx rom was very fast but i suffer on the very bad wake up lag and also very slow responsive on the keyboard typing.
*
You should give NDT MIUI a try. But once NexusHD2 ICS 4.0 ROM is ready, a lot of people will jump ship.

cruzzmz
sounds good, do u have laggy or unresponsive moment ?

Eh bro, I didn't recommend you to use MIUI.
It was you who recommended me to use MIUI. Haha...

anyone know how to do backup for all the apps or contact or watsoever..bcz if i want to flash to newer rom it will be very troublesome..have to reinstall back everything..I know they have the feature but i don't know how to use. Anyone using this ROM can teach me? thanks
*
For contacts backup, use "Accounts and Sync" in Settings. You can backup and restore using Gmail.
As for apps, try Titanium Backup. Download it from Market.

gosh, how could i forget that, but MIUI rom almost bugs free for HD2 compare with some native android devices

Yeah, of course. MIUI is still the best compared to native Android ROM. But the constant update and sometimes mess-up makes me headache.

Added on December 18, 2011, 4:18 pmBeta 7 is out:
Upgraded to the latest stock 4.0.2 (ICL53F) ROM. (No 4.0.3 ROM at the moment.)

Updated to Market 3.4.4.
Updated to Google Maps 6.0.3.

Still no fixes on Bluetooth in-call and Camera.

hi guys,
Anyone of u using Team Win Recovery ? an alternative than Clockword Mod Recovery .  hmm.gif

[18 Dec 2011][RECOVERY] Team Win Recovery Project (twrp) v2.0.0RC0

What interest me, TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project) uses touchscreen interaction instead using hardkey for navigation. But it still have bugs with MAGLDR partition and unable to wipeout user data  hmm.gif
*
This is the first time I heard about this.

Normally I use HD2 Toolkit to partition, install MAGLDR, etc.
