I discovery for hd2 release 2 days ago, itching for test but bugs still in the air
*
Hmm, anyway, I don't really need CWM since I can manually download ROM from XDA almost every Mon/Tue.
I enjoy doing this actually. Haha...

I think langthang really messed up his NDT MIUI series big time.
Ever since version 40, WiFi can be turned on, but it shows obtaining IP address and nothing happens.

Now, with version 41, even worse and more serious.
Data and A2SD is not working at all. WiFi can be turned on, but nothing happens.

Damn... langthang recommended 170/5 for version 41 ICS.
For normal version, 150/5 is ok.

thanks for the report andy
Im still on Dev 38.1 , so far everything is good, after reading your comment I better not to upgrade atm.

btw, does langthang also release ICS ?
*
Yes, he released 3 versions DEVELOPMENT series today - Normal, ICS and Xmas.
ICS is not based on ICS framework or anything. It's just an ICS theme with ICS lockscreen.

Most probably I'll install back normal today.
Not really keen on fake ICS. Now waiting for tytung to finalise his ICS AOSP.

dont settle for imitation  sweat.gif
i am using the NexusHD2-IceCreamSandwich b6
all is looking fine for me ... can be a daily use rom  rclxm9.gif

just that u have to flash a2sd script afterward like a2sd darktremore script or another script that i forgot the name.
with no phone call only for email (push), fb, whatsapp all day the batt can last for almost 12 hrs

thumbup.gif

Sounds cool. Why didn't you flash beta 7 since it's out? Is it problematic?
Hmm, the Bluetooth in-call and camera is important to me, so I chose to stick to my NDT MIUI.

Yeah, you're irght. Imitation ICS feeling is not really good and nice.

any HD2 android user can provide the Program <Internet> and <Stocks> apk file?
*
HD2 custom ROM has already "Browser", in case you need Internet.
Do you mind to explain why do you need "Internet" instead?

For stocks (if you would like to browse KLSE shares), you may use iBursa, from Market.

Added on December 23, 2011, 2:23 amGuys, you need to take a look at this.
New ICS developer for HD2. From what I see in his working list, he's even pro than tytung.
He got USB mass storage fixed. Now left camera. Great fellow.

Installed NDT MIUI 2.3.7 X-MAS DEVELOPMENT V41.0, then restore all my apps using titanium backup (the only option since from other ROM).
Everything seem ok but after reboot, all apps missing. 2nd reboot, get a lot force close message. Now turn off the phone n thinking what to do..any idea?

i partition my SD card using CWR with 1GB size and 128MB swap like it mentioned. then using App2SD GUI to turn on the ZipAlign. or i should not turn on the ZipAlign?

edit: downloading stable version 4.1 now
*
You should partition your SD card to ext3 using gparted (refer here).
Set your ext3 partition to maximum 1GB. The rest of the space, leave it to FAT32.

After that, install ROM as usual and use A2SDGUI to "move and rebuild" dalvik cache to SD-EXT memory.
This is important to free up your NAND memory!

The instructions that you referred is for Data2SD, which means it tricks the phone that you've a lot of memory (in fact, it's a shared memory between NAND and SD).
I tried this way before, but it's really lagging and slow.

i try the stable version i also facing the same force close issue...beside that it also very lag and slow maybe due to the data2sd u mentioned.

i now trying SD miui version from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=969661

going to restore my apps and see will get the FC issue or not.
*
Don't use DATA2SD. It's really lagging.
Just set your partition using GParted, then install a fresh ROM, and quickly open A2SDGUI to "move and rebuild to SD-EXT" Dalvik Cache.

Well, my journey with the HTC HD2 has come to an end..
Goodbye HD2, you have been a GREAT device and served me well as a hardcore flasher.. because of you I had the opportunity to use Wm6.5, Android, and even the sucky WP7 (lol).

I hope the next owner will take care of you as well as I did.

For those who still use the HTC HD2, keep it up! It's still a great device thumbup.gif

Sad to see you leaving, but what phone are you using currently?
See you around, man.

QUOTE(ongdennis @ Dec 26 2011, 11:27 PM)
after follow ur method...the phone is a lot faster...also find out the force close problem..seem like something wrong from the backup from titanium...i just reinstall those app from market then no more FC...

thanks
*
Yes, just do a reinstallation from Market.
I hate to admit that I don't like to use Titanium Backup to backup my apps.
In fact, I don't backup my apps. I just do a reinstall.
It takes a lot of time, but much easier.

As for contacts, I can sync with Gmail.
As for my SMS, I use "SMS Backup+", which can backup/restore from/to my Gmail.
My e-mails, I use Gmail, so it's very easy.

Anything else I missed out?
That's all, I guess.

i got a hd2 android, want to do factory reset, but once i click the factory reset, the data still remain inside.
mean i have to flash to another new rom?
*
You've to "wipe data" in order to "format" all data stored inside.
Once you've wiped, then only you're safe to install a brand "new" ROM.

Got myself an Xperia Play andy..

user posted image

Overall I can feel that it's a bit faster than HD2 on Android. But the real thing with this device is the gamepad and fluid 60fps gameplay... I found myself sticking to my phone playing games more than with my PC nowdays..  laugh.gif

Camera wise, the HD2 wins still. Xperia play sucks in low light, HD2 is better.
*
Hmm, I'm quite afraid of the slide of Xperia Play. The phone really look nice.
Anyway, hope to see you again, bro.

Now, I just hope HD7 can take over/replace HD2.

Slide is very sturdy.. just get the original set if you're afraid. As long as warranty covers it should be fine.

nod.gif Don't worry I'll still be around. I hope the HD7 can be the next gen HD2 too bro.. Does it load Android yet? All I can see from youtube is some fake HD7 china set that loads Android..  laugh.gif
*
Ya, that's the problem, but still I don't like slide phones. No doubt slide phones are stylish, but when I think of the ribbon thing, really scares the hell out of me.

Yup, fake HD7 with Android has been circulating around. Despite pleas from members in XDA, no developers willing to come forward to develop. Too bad...

QUOTE(miraclejustin @ Jan 3 2012, 07:00 PM)
bro, just bought my HD2 few days ago from a forumer. Using Desire Froyo 2.2 NAND rom.

Before i get this phone, i saw how flexible it was on youtube and wiki. It is one of the few phone that could boot mutiple os.

Get the phone now, and tried it myself. Love it very much but found one major draw back of this phone.

Low internal memory. My memory is around 20mb only after installing few app.
Try to move those apps to SDcard with App2SD Free. But it seem like it was not completely move, it still consume 1mb-2mb on internal memory. I donno why.

I followed a tutorial on the net to set app install on SD card on default. now my Apps can automatically installed on SDcard but it still consume space on internal rom. So I still can't find a solution to solve this low memory disadvantage.
Anyone have solution for this? please advice...thx everyone.
*
Try to use other ROM. I would personally recommend NDT MIUI.
Partition your memory card to 1GB EXT4 partition using GParted (Google it).
After that, put your microSD card in and wipe everything by holding the power button. Flash the ROM.
Then use A2SDGUI to "move and rebuild" dalvik cache to SD-EXT.
Reboot and done.

thx andyjyneo and enCORe. Will try out on this weekend. any guide on flashing the rom? Im still green on android.
*
Check this out.

NDT MIUI is the best ROM, I would say.
But with more and more ICS (Android 4) ROM arrives, I wouldn't dare to guarantee that anymore.
I'll personally test ICS tonight to compare whether ICS ROM is up to the par for our daily use.

EDIT:
I just flashed ICS last night and got some few comments on it.
Performance wise, not really good. Maybe it's due to beta version.

As for A2SD, there's no script supporting it currently. So the only way to enlarge your NAND space is Data2SD. But unfortunately, I've a class 10 microSD card. From what I read on the guide, class 10 card on HD2 is really very slow. Recommended speed is class 6. So those who want to use Data2SD (no matter on Gingerbread 2.3 or ICS 4), please take note.

I tried to open gallery to view my photos in my SD card, but unfortunately, it keeps lagging and really slow. I don't know whether it's due to my SD card speed or ROM.

I got mad and wipe and reverted back to my Gingerbread MIUI. Maybe I'll try again once everything is stable or I've a new Class 6 SD card.

i installed NDT MIUI rom then change the kernel to DORIMANX Kernel 3.3
i felt overall it better than the original kernel. At the same time i also OC it to 1.6GHz.

i also felt that my kingmax class10 SD card is slower than the ori sandisk class 2 card...both also 8Gb
*
Hmm, so looks like what they said is true.
Guess that our class 10 card really can't work on HD2. Too bad...
