DrPrichard confimed it via email ;-)
We should get someone who uses the 4Mbps or 6Mbps Home Fibre to confim..... even Unifi doesn't charge 6% Govt Tax
*
nice..shoud not be charged as..
but as far as i know taxation, maxis will take none of the 6% imposed to the end consumer..

E-billing will get the RM5 waived (The Star's Letter to the Editor also highlight ISP charging for physical bills)
*
we should be in a green world by subscribing thru e-billing, & save our pocket..
imagine rm5 x 24mths = RM120! just for itemised billing..
we can channel that waste to pay for 1 monthly payment thumbup.gif

just got my maxis fibre installed this morning. both maxis and TM technician came to install. TM technician came to do cabling and provide modem. Maxis technician came to provide phone, router and account details.

Maxis are renting TM's infrastructure. So basically if unifi is down, maxis will be down as well. same goes to P1 and the coming soon celcom/digi home fibre.

so far satisfied with the service and speed. no regrets biggrin.gif
*
holy crab!!
that is not a good news entirely..
how long is the installation time?
landed or high rise?
if u are landed property, the FDP is at the back or in front of ur house?

yup.. any problem will have to call maxis and they will check if need to contact TM or not. however the technician who installed mine just now is so kind. he let me keep his number and ask me to call him first if any problem. he will come n check if need to call maxis customer service or not. smile.gif

guys i suggest to you all to read the T&C on Maxis website very carefully 1st before applying. I myself was thinking of applying for this Maxis fiber optic and decided to read the T&C and some of the terms is kinda unacceptable to me. Just like the term jktlee has highlighted, and while it looks simple it has tons of implications on your network system.
For example I plan to have a 24/7 server on my home network, but if Maxis is going to make me open my network for people to use then I have a very weak point on my network already open for compromise pretty much legally.
*
it sounds scary..but when u think of it, try to go to any of ur friends' house (who uses maxis home fibre) n try to search those so called "maxis hotspot"

Absolutely correct

Warranty is a year. If thunder strike within 1 year, can still claim warranty. RM192 is the face value of the downloads and also the PC antivirus. From what I understand, its PC only (desktop/laptop), or rather, normal computer OS.

Added on May 30, 2012, 8:35 amI'm back!!!! After 3 days MIA....away for holiday...LOL
*
u mean if we exceed the rm192, we will be charged or still unlimited?

Maxis Customer Service called me to answer my enquiry for Maxis Home Fibre

1. No 6% Govt Tax for the Maxis Home Fibre service only. VOIP usage (> free minutes) will be charged 6%
2. Two bills will be generated : Internet bill + VOIP bill
3. After 24-month, it will remain RM118 or whichever new package you choose to switch.
*
nice..then dont exceed the quota for the free minutes..hehehe

QUOTE(venrine @ May 30 2012, 05:49 PM)
Question here:
1. what is the term for the free minutes provided (to Maxis mobile and IDD)? are they actually a one time thing or a monthly limit that u can utilize over and over again?
2. do we really need to terminate our current streamyx subscription before we can apply for this maxis home fibre?

THanks guyz
*
1.monthly limit
2. depends..if u are landed house, mayb not..if high rise, likely yeah

up to year 2012 only? how abt next yr?

QUOTE(petlu28 @ May 30 2012, 09:40 PM)
Just back from Maxis centre they say each month need pay rm118 + 6% GST too. Then next time if over limit quota the speed will very very low. Over limit call charges for maxis mobile & non maxis mobile rm0.90 per min on subsequent charges, charges to non maxis fixed line local call rm0.05 per min. For those already get the wifi modem need to ask this modem can connect how many LAN cables?
*
rm0.90 or rm0.09?
4 lan cables
