QUOTE(mixologist84 @ Jun 4 2012, 10:55 AM) You can reapply.QUOTE(lehteck @ Jun 4 2012, 09:55 PM) Thats my company problem liow TM comes out with new offer every 3 months. Lets hope there's something for Unifi somewhere around Raya.Still hope Maxis will work out new plan @ end of the year. I asked my unifi friend, they say unifi might come out new plan or new rate but dont know yet QUOTE(petlu28 @ Jun 4 2012, 10:32 PM) He give me installation date this Thursday 2.30pm. Tomorrow will double confirm with them. I also a bit surprise their work so efficient. hahahaa Speed of installation is dependent on contractor appointment slot availability. Thus, every area is different. There is no guarantee but it has to be more than 4 working days with many of the users not bound by contracts of Unifi, Streamyx, and P1 registering. Kajang got Unifi in late 2010, I would say all of the existing Unifi users cannot migrate to Maxis due to their contract still in effect. |

QUOTE(Swordylove @ Jun 3 2012, 02:58 PM) I'd advise you to terminate your TM line only after Maxis Fibre has been successfully installed and you don't experience any problem after a few days. Well, depends on your setup actually. For those living in high rise buildings, there is no chance at all to use dual phone lines. Once Maxis Fibre Home is installed, the TM line will be pulled out at the exchange point, thus, users will NOT BE ABLE to use that phone number line anymore, and together with that, no more streamyx. For landed, still possible, since it is a seperate new fibre optic line. But do take note that it will take 3-4 weeks for TM to process your cancellation request, thus, almost 1 month of wastage, especially those staying in high rise.Added on June 5, 2012, 1:13 am QUOTE(ryudell @ Jun 4 2012, 10:44 PM) yeap, your area is under coverage!!! Just received email from the telesales department regarding your application....you should be contacted soon. And should be fast too I guess, since its Kajang....lucky you... :-)Added on June 5, 2012, 1:15 am QUOTE(ronnie @ Jun 4 2012, 10:56 AM) Definitely a very long backlog.... nice offers is always like that. just like the SGSIII 4-day promo by Maxis SGS3, sold out everyday before noon....And people start to Q up before 7am at Maxis Centres, especially KLCC and Gardens..... Crazy...... Added on June 5, 2012, 1:19 am QUOTE(petlu28 @ Jun 4 2012, 09:44 PM) Kajang not the fastest, Ipoh is.... :-)This post has been edited by DrPitchard: Jun 5 2012, 01:19 AM |

QUOTE(ronnie @ Jun 4 2012, 09:34 PM) fibre cable should be more stable than wireless..Added on June 5, 2012, 6:49 am QUOTE(DrPitchard @ Jun 5 2012, 01:25 AM) That's very bad...to hit below 3Mbps. Do a speedtest from time to time and if it still remains, I think you should complain.... Finally got my Maxis 10mb! Just to share experience...
I applied with Dr.Pritchard the day after it was announced (may 19) and only got the call confirming my application on Friday (may 25). Initially wanted the install on May 28 since i took leave for that day already, but unfortunately Maxis scheduled it a week later, which was yesterday. Installation had a few hiccups, namely TMnet contractors being their usual selves... the poor Maxis installer had to wait for like 3 hours (he came 9:30am) before the TM guys showed up around 12 noon. Finally got it all up and running by 1:30pm. Extremely satisfied with the speeds so far. I feel like going from a 8800 (1mbps) to a GTX 680 (10mbps) lol. Here's some speed test results: ![]() ![]() ![]() Yeah, speed and quality looks like it will fluctuate a little, but subjectively speaking, I can't truly feel any slowness yet so far. I haven't had a chance to try out online gaming yet since my gaming rig is kinda out of commission, but torrents and downloads are working very well. A problem I do have is that I don't have a public-facing IP so I can't access WebUI or VNC in to my PC yet, need to figure out how to switch to having a public IP, as currently I'm on the 10.xxx range that gets reported to Dyndns. |
