QUOTE(keeting89 @ Sep 24 2010, 11:23 PM) Issit the bumper will completely solve the antenna issue? really wanted to know.. Yes, because the bumper or case will cover the left side where the Wifi and Radio antenna is separated by only a small gap. The antennas are metal and on the OUTSIDE of the phone. So if you cover the sides with anything except metal/skin, you'll be okay ... even loytape or masking tape will do Er, that's why Apple is giving free bumpers ma. Because it can't be solved with software. This post has been edited by hsyong: Sep 24 2010, 11:31 PM

I noticed from most videos using AT&T , the signal bars are always not full ( 4 /5 bars or 3/5 bars , )
Then when they grip it, it reduces to 2 or 1 bar ,
Does this mean, since our DiGi has full signal most of the time , antenna problem wont be so problematic ( dropped calls ) ?
Correct me if im wrong though .

QUOTE(inuTz @ Sep 24 2010, 11:27 PM) I want to ask is it really on 1st Nov? Thats mean I still can purchase iphone 4 at RM1990? Someone clarify this... Added on September 24, 2010, 11:31 pmIf that phone is kept in pocket, the bar will stll drop without the bumper? All details here regarding discount for current iDigi users: http://www.digi.com.my/iphone/rewards.htmlThe bars will only drop if you SHORT the antennas with conducting material (like metal, skin, water). So, if you pocket is empty or you use a case, there will not be any problems. See the picture of iPhone 4 anywhere on the web, on the left side you can see a small gap separating the wifi and radio antenna.. if you don't use a case, just don't use your hand to touch both antennas at the same time

QUOTE(hsyong @ Sep 24 2010, 11:22 PM) The flaw is hardware so it won't be fixed by any software update. Whatever batch we get will also have the possibility of the antenna problem as there is no news Apple has fixed or improved the hardware design. Personally, I think there will not be a hardware fix. Therefore the problem will exist throughout the life of iPhone 4 production. We can: 1. Hold the phone correct way (to quote Steve Jobs) haha 2. Use a case/bumper 3. Wait for iPhone 5 Some have reported problems, some not much problems... maybe because shorting the antenna changes the impedance in an unpredictable way, so some sets more serious than others. Wish you luck... hope you can get a set with not much problem or wait for 1 or 2 months time for Apple to ship out the fixed iPhone 4 antenna version..

Apparently network quality here is better than AT&T (US). And also because they fixed the "network signal algorithm" with the 4.0.2 firmware.

QUOTE(johnthe692006 @ Sep 24 2010, 10:42 PM) Seems tht death grip is an issue. Notice tht the signal drop is very bad. How bout the quality if call? Experienced drop call a lot? Me is using 3GS with ios4. The signal oso no good but some the quality of call touch wood still ok. Any ip4 user can share? im an iphone 4 user with maxis. i've talked for more than an hour with my iphone 4. no issue at all. i guess it's the way u handle/hold the device. i've tried using the death grip. nothing happened. but a friend of mine who has a bigger n thicker hand than mine, tried the death grip and the signal actually dropped. strange...

First thing I tried was to grip that signal of death. Sure have drop bar but so far have not notice any drop calls yet. Will try again especially in weaker signal areas.
I hope Apple would allow more than 11 springboard pages managing in iTunes for future update because the App Sync Management is a nightmare. Took a long time to rearrange all the apps to where it should be as it once were.
