In certain situations where signal is already not at its best, death grip WILL cause it to drop calls. I've tested both Maxis n Digi......drop calls on digi is more likely compaed to maxis

The CEO is lying thru his teeth or he just doesn't know. The antenna issue is a hardware issue and can't be fixed by software.

See other thread on this forum >> http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1548490/+420 ... signal attenuation still occurs if you touch/short the radio and wifi antenna with your skin (severity depends on the network frequency though... someone even reported it's more serious with Digi)

On iDigi 88 3GS now... waiting for Nov 1 to decide whether to get iPhone 4 with RM300 discount smile.gif

Steve Jobs did not say that la smile.gif ... the software update is only to change the algorithm of the software on how to display the reception bars. Nothing to do with the antenna hardware issue.

It's a hardware design flaw.. cannot be fixed by software.

D reception issue doesn't a prob for me. I have been using iPhone 4 since 6/9, didn't really notice any reception issue, only experience once a call dropped.

I didn't 'dressed' my i4 with bumper, but usig normal case..

are you at strong signal location?
test it with low signal place for 3 of them and see.

The flaw is hardware so it won't be fixed by any software update. Whatever batch we get will also have the possibility of the antenna problem as there is no news Apple has fixed or improved the hardware design.

Personally, I think there will not be a hardware fix. Therefore the problem will exist throughout the life of iPhone 4 production.

We can:
1. Hold the phone correct way (to quote Steve Jobs) haha
2. Use a case/bumper
3. Wait for iPhone 5

Some have reported problems, some not much problems... maybe because shorting the antenna changes the impedance in an unpredictable way, so some sets more serious than others.

Wish you luck... hope you can get a set with not much problem smile.gif
