have it under setting>general>usage

hi there..
i have an iphone 3gs 16gb.
its original firm ware is os version 3.1
yesterday i tried to update it to os version 4.1.
Then it says iphone could not be restored. An unknown error occured (29)


How to solve this?
Is this called a dead I-Phone ?

Is it stuck in recovery mode? Try to put the phone in dfu mode. Made sure u hav the latest itunes. If still have error try using other computer. It does help me to update sucessfully

what is a DFU mode??
ya , it is stuck in recovery mode.. not showing any detail at all.. even no serial and imei number.. it writes "NA"

Mine was like tat as well. Try to use another computer to do it

Thanks for the feedback. Then, it would be better to get sets from Singapore, rite? No headache. Also, the warranty will still be applicable once Apple launches their ip4 here... rite?

@hcturtle could also be a problem with the usb cable. i've had that problem before turns out i changed usb cable and it was OK.

have any of you guys ever had this problem where whenever you're talking on the phone then the screen suddenly turns ON and your ear touches the facetime/speaker icon and you know the drill...shit. it's freaking annoying

dats y apple came out wit OS4.1 to overcome this prox. sensor thingy.. mayb u can update ur iphone n tel us if u stil have any problems with the prox.sensor..

i faced this too...try it on another comp.. it worked for me.

iOS 4.1 does not solve the proxy sensor issues.
I have this problem too - but lucky for me, my natural style of holding the phone keeps the proxy sensor in a sweet spot which does not turn the screen suddenly ON

i tried the 2nd computer already. should i proceed to the 3rd computer?

anyway.. my set is still under waranty. can i claim ?

IOS 4.1 doesnt fix the problem..Arghh, never had this problem with my Iphone 3g & 3gs

it happens to me maybe 1 out of 10 calls which is a lot in my opinion. It makes me look really stupid

I checked around on Google as well, no available feature to get sms delivery notes.. I wasnt asking about msgs that arn't sent.. most messages are sent, but not delivered sumtimes, due to some reason or another.. thats what i was asking.. thanks anyway..

i found out that in the UK and US as well as some other European countries, you can add a code to the subject of your msg, so that they get a delivery report.. you get charge .01 pence for that.. dont know the code for malaysia..

Added on September 15, 2010, 11:25 amAdd your photos, picture folders to Itunes, so that when you sync, the pics will be transferred onto your phone.. works just as simply on a mac or windows..

u mean a message is sent and received to an active phone?
example:when if the recipients off his ph or out of network coverage n u send to the recipient delivery report will show pending? Once the recipient on his phone or is within network u'll get a delivery report?

hi all, i am planning to get an iPhone 4 from Hk or singapore and then use my current Maxis line on it.

However, when i went to the Maxis center, they told me that the micro sim is only for Data only and that i cannot convert my current plan (that i sign up for the 3Gs) for it.

Is this true? i rather trust experienced users like you all...
