Me too I seriously think it should be together. At least D90 & D7000. Even the Canon thread are all in one

Nikon thread already splitted into 3 - Entry Level, Mid-Range, Pro Level.

It's better to merge all the thread together. Sometimes Nikon thread just sorted out too specific and ended up some of the thread ended up dead and deserted.

My 2 cents.

Then, why not D80 and D90 together? Different class?

I think D90 and D7000 should go to the same thread, since it's launching anytime soon. No plans to reorganize the threads and consolidate them together?

Or maybe just a standalone Nikon thread, whether you want to talk about body, Nikkor lens or flash unit. All things Nikon. How about Nikon compacts? Should they be consolidated too?

some questions may b ignored or unanswered if thread move too fast, a problm in Canon thread

Is it me or is there a sudden soft spot towards the left along a vertical path where the tower is. looks like it gets sharper again towards the edge.

Since no 1 wanted to open new thread, so i did though im not a D90 user, sorry

Agreed, somehow it seems to be soft at the corner but becomes sharper at the extreme corners.

any lens to be recommend?
main purpose: traveling, family gatherings, outings
reason to use dslr: get poison from fren, no longer satisfied with normal camera's sharpness+ quality, likes the blury and 3D effect, travel quite oftens...
my jobs do not really need me to shoot, just a plain interest and hobby
budget: plan to get D90+18-200..but worrying if i got the rite lens for my purposes...
A friend of me suggesting to get a normal kit lens 18-105 as new dslr user, which is enough for my purpose. i have go through some reviews, suggesting 18-200 as all in one lens, any forumer using this? any comments?

a new D7000 will be in town about 1-2 weeks...so how about the reputation of D90??

Looking at your purpose it would be better if you get a kit 18-105mm lens. I'm telling if you do not know yet, all rounded lens like 18-200mm lens is versatile, convenient but you sacrifice overall sharpness and it's more expensive and heavier. a 18-55 + 55-200 is much better than a 18-200mm's sharpness.

Since you're using for traveling, gatherings and outings, 18-105mm is sufficient and sharp enough, and for normal outings you rarely need above 100mm. Getting a 18-105mm + a 50mm 1.8 (for low light and bokeh) will give me more fun with a cheaper price. But well there are still many people using 18-200 because it's simply convenient. It's your call.
