QUOTE(sulfuriq @ Dec 27 2012, 04:40 PM) Last time my full load was around 57c, now after using GentleTyphoon is around 52c. My rig is not in a condition room, so need a proper air flow to get those hot air out from the case. had changed my noisy stock HSF to a Artic Cooling Freezer 7 rev.2 . For less than 90 bucks, it's pretty good . Had problems installing it at first but that's a different story. the maximum load core temperature had dropped slightly, but at least it's far far far quieter than the stock fan. With AMD's Overdrive, the average under 100% load is around 53c-55c CORE TEMP. as for idle, it's 35c to 38c CPU TEMP. Now I am looking to add one more fan...where do you get your Scythe?

QUOTE AMD FX-8300 Starts Selling, Lower TDP Comes at a PriceAMD started selling its FX-8300 eight-core processor, which has been in the news since early-November. The new chip comes with a relatively low TDP of 95W, compared to other eight-core FX "Vishera" processors, which ship with 125W TDP. Despite being slower than the other FX "Vishera" chips, the FX-8320 and FX-8350, its low-TDP appears to have given AMD a big enough selling point, to price the chip around $190. Based on the 32 nm "Vishera" micro-architecture, the AMD FX-8300 ships with a clock speed of 3.30 GHz, 3.60 GHz of TurboCore speed, eight cores spread across four modules, 2 MB L2 cache per module (8 MB total), and 8 MB shared L3 cache. The expected launch date is June. Most important bit is GCN 2.0 Radeon Cores Now all its left is price But one big concern is why launch 6 months after Trinity debut?? Will anyone be getting FX8300? The one notable spec is its TDP being 95W 3.3GHz vs FX8350 TDP 125W 4.0GHz . Base on FX8350 performance, do you guys think I should upgrade from my 1055T clocked at 3.5GHz or should I wait for Steamroller next year?
I am still very satisfied with the 1055T OCed performance so far.

Whats the point of upgrading since in real world performance you wont feel anything. 1055T still has 6 floating point unit compare to FX8350 which has only 4 . Wait for steamroller better. Piledriver is just a minor upgrade from Bulldozer.

Performance don't measured by just the number of FPU, this is the reason why AMD chose to build CPU in modules with shared FPU because most programs do integer calculations. By your logic Streamroller going to be worse because they streamlined the FPU area even more because more shared unitsBut I do agree you should stick with Phenom X6, as I did with my X4. I don't feel like upgrading since even whatever benchmark scores says Intel is better bla bla bla, all games runs great on my hardware

QUOTE(LittleBear @ Jan 3 2013, 01:46 PM) Better wait for Steamroller. A question, Steamroller will be manufactured at 22nm or was it 28nm? Its 28nm, GlobalFoundries isn't as advanced as Intel fab. They need to unify everything to 28nm so its easier for them

This year AMD can only sell revised steppings for the Piledriver FX series cores.
can anyone share what PileDriver 2.0 can offer to the table compared to current PileDriver series? I hope its not manufactured in 28nm tech. I don't want to be GlobalFoundries beta tester...

Waiting for the price cut for llano, but no sign the price will go down. 65w A8 5500 and A10 5700 still not available. But if got sure price jack RM50+.
All AMD cpu higher than newegg price RM50~RM100. Most Intel cpu price lower than newegg.

Optomos,
Global Foundries fab is in Singapore while Intel's fab is in Malaysia, Penang. BTW, why bother getting FM1 cpus? FM2 Richland might support CF with the Radeon 8000 series GCN.
Only 65w Quad Core I found in NewEgg is A8-5500.
Price: USD 105 or RM350.50 (325.50(105*3.1) + RM25 Shipping)
