So true. AMD must be crazy for not including GCN GPU cores into Trinity. If you buy a Trinity, it is an Intel I3 + HD6670 Radeon equivalent. Discrete GPU price drops after a year or 2. The better choice will be to invest with an I5 2nd hand and save money for the next gen gpu.

budget? Price for high-end Trinity APUs starts at RM450. You can get decent 2nd hand price for gpus. Just remember not to exceed your psu rating.

that's right. APU is perfect for HTPC purpose only. mGPU much better performance then intel if compare only onboard video. intel HD3/4000 scuk...

for gaming purpose only, you don't need very extreme high end processor upgrade. if you're in limited budget, keep your i3 and save all the money to get high end discrete graphics card. forget about APU, not really dirt cheap. share with us too, for your current pc full specs. see anything else need to upgrade.

you either sell ur I3 and mobo to get socket 1150 and Haswell CPU on May~June or just borrow a fren's gpu and run in your system. Maybe you only need a GPU upgrade?

Currently got RM700 on hand to upgrade. My pc is now old and lagging. So might as well as change platform .

Hint: Hide the system's age if you wanna resell.

You can always wait for price plummet for 1st gen I5. Quad cores will serve you better than dual hyper-threaded chips. I once got offered for RM800 for I7-860 + mobo Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3P. 2nd hand prices are a steal. Just secure at least one month personal warranty.

Sorry for going off topic, but this is still an AMD thread. Performance CPUs from AMD will not be released until 2014. Both Phenom II and Bulldozer will be phased out soon. Just wait for early adopters of Bulldozer to sell them for dirt cheap on Nov-Dec.

Not gonna resell i guess, just update on Processor/Motherboard/Ram / GPU(In the near future) Roughly March to be done.

I have RM700 on hand for Processor,Motherboard,Ram.

P/S: I'm currently age of 16. So yeah, i uses my own money for upgrading because my family wouldn't get a new rig. So i guess that's the only choice. Hms.

I usually do some light gaming on my pc. Mostly bowsering might as well as i want smooth user experience. That's why i asked for opinions.

Any Suggestion?

if you already set up your mind to consider only i3-3220 or A8 5600K. still vote i3 for you as you mentioned for gaming purpose. but have to rely back on old GPU first as your current limited budget.

Might as well as go for Asus P8B75M-LX , Since i'm not going to overclock. But if i have slightly more money, yes i'll go for Z77 Chipset motherboard.

The Cheapest i3-3220 i get in Kuching is RM409.

erm... maybe you can try PM some famous dealers here from our garage sales, to see Kuching retail cheaper or buy from them + postage fee?

After checked. Dealers here is cheaper , but what i'm concern about is the warranty problem, might be hard for me to post out again @@

all my pc items I bought online. processor and ram always no worries for me.
anyway, if your preferred option is walking retail, then you're limit to that price only.

CJcomp has plenty of used *Intel processor. Try them.
They are not "K" series so it might still be ok.
