yea..the hostels i applied for are around GBP100~170...self-catered. And UCL is right in the middle of the city. I reckon I can save some on transportation since all the hostels i applied for are within walking distance to uni.

How much will groceries and stuff cost?

Anyone knows, is it possible to get a half price discount when you renew your passport showing your offer letter ?

I already accepted the uncon offer but I haven't received the offer letter yet.
What I receive though is a CAS letter. ( Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies ) from the Uni.

Is this letter enough to prove to them ?
Thanks smile.gif

actually uncon offer letter is good enough
no??
it will be better if you already settle the tuition fees
then just show them the CAS letter you have plus the receipt
for visa purpose, you need to settle your accomodation too
prove to them you have a place to stay icon_rolleyes.gif

if that's the case, is good that you renew your passport first
then only apply for visa

For Cardiff the minimum living expenses (bare minimum) should be close to 500...
Average rent for private residences in cathays (student area near uni) is around 230-270 without bills
University residences im not sure...you can check the accomodation website for the info
Bills etc provided your living in private accomodation should set you back around 70 per month
Mobile phone contracts around 35 (with good phones)
foods etc 150 if you cooking and eat a lot
Transports free (with you legs tongue.gif)..its a compact city so everything's in walking distance
