Does anyone know what are the differences of a Hons degree in the UK compared to a Hons in Australia.

I know every bachelor degree in the UK carries a Hons whereas in Australia you will need to do an extra year to get it.

But I heard from my friend that the Hons in Australia is ranked higher than the Hons in the UK. Is this true??

I'm not sure whether I can provide an accurate answer but I somehow recall this in PhD subforum.

Everyone(unless you fail a subject) gets a Hon title in your degree when you graduate. It doesn't matter where the Hon originates from because at the end of the day; it's just a Hon unless you get 1st class or 2-1, this does not matter.

that is not true......

the uk honours is a measure of quality of your undergraduate results....no additional work is made.....

the oz masters is a measure both of quality of your undergraduate studies, as well as longer time of study.....ie, for 4 years courses, you can get a honours like in uk, but for 3 year courses, you are invited (ie you cannot ask unless you are invited) to spend an extra honours year.....and this extra year can count towards you masters in future......

Nottingham Games Malaysia is easily the biggest single event organised by Nottingham Malaysian Society. They invite Malaysian students from all universities in the UK to participate in sports event. Sports not your forte? Every year Nottingham Games Malaysia organises a side event - food. Alot of universities participate in it, so chances are you should be able to see your friends from other universities if you pay Nottingham Games a visit.

Contact Nottingham Games Malaysia organising committee or find your EXCO for Malaysian Society in your uni. I don't think water polo is included. I'll be going haha.

British University College Sports? You need to run for the first or second or sometimes third team for your university sports. For example: If you get chosen for Football first team, you'll fight a league match against all the universities' football first team. It's like EPL for the universities; followed by second team and third team.

Its not actually like a university ba. Its a tuition provider only. and it has campuses on few locations as mentioned. so still pondering where to go.
