how to apply for UK citizenship selepas graduation from UK uni? What benefits are in your employment contract? is your house rent paid by you or company? how about car? any plans to stay in UK permanently?

are you talking about applying permanent resident here or becoming a British? there are different between them... rules and conditions..... but either way it is challenging! (and need money .... the application fee get increased every year and it is not cheap in my opinion....)... i would say better focus on study first and finger crossed to get a job here...it is very difficult to get a job here hmm.gif

The latest university Guardian rankings are out.

would take their rankings with a pinch of salt though. They have their own criteria in determining the rankings which is different from those of QS and THE. Which some may argue is a better way( more emphasis on student satisfaction than the let's say international student composure).

remember they use soft parameters...and rather subjective ones as well....

there are enough ranking tables with hard criteria, so it is interesting to look at things from a different angle...

how happy and satisfying is the uni experience?....that's what the guardian ranking is about....and some smaller unis with nice campuses can actually be a great experience.... lol

Haha yeah. Coventry uni hahahahaha. Then again all these ex-polytechs have the disadvantage in terms of age and reputation but may provide a good experience

I don't mind having to listen to what you have to say on both PR and becoming a citizen.

Despite the fact that you're at uni, you did not answer the second part of my question flex.gif
So you go to Warwick? Is it like a dead town with loads of green fields and rocks?

Do you hide in your student dorm room all day cos the white people don't want to mingle with Asians?

Accounting & finance. coventry is pretty much like ipoh but it's a 20 min train to birmingham so yeah we do head there for shopping and better food. The campus itself feels pretty vibrant, always having something to do smile.gif

Too much generalisation going on there. White people are fine mingling with asians, it depends whether it clicks or not. I have all sorts of friends from different backgrounds so i don't think that statement is fair. but yes there are instances where white people only mix amongst themselves as well as asians and i won't deny that, but i think that happens everywhere. Why the attack on me hiding in my dorm everyday? lol where did you even infer that from?

How about you? graduated?

I merely asked you a question. It was not a statement of fact. My sentence ended with a '?'. I am not attacking you on the fact that you hide in your small dorm room everyday. I was just asking you thats all.

What are the prospects for accounting & finance though? I mean if I do that degree then what can I do with it in Malaysia?

I haven't decided what I wanted to do.

my bad then.

You can do pretty much most of the graudate jobs relating to these two fields, but many will enter accounting firms. some will enter consulting some will work for banks. Pretty wide range of jobs in that sense. Accountants are fairly highly demanded in the UK so getting a job here is not as hard as other courses. I know quite a few seniors who got a job over here. Of course it's no fancy IB pay.

I saw from your old post that you studied in top 20-25 unis? Are you still in the UK or back in Msia?

You just need to standout from the rest of the pack. They're many short courses that you can take while at uni to enhance your application. Picking up another language will do you no harm. You really have to think out of the box.

I left UK abruptly and will be returning in the near future once I sort out my finances. I want to find out more about being a British PR or citizen.

You need to be residing 10years in UK to be eligible for PR.... Not possible unless you get a job after graduating....or have lots of money to be a 'professional student' for 10 years....

Getting a tier 2 visa is now almost impossible.....

I think you can do it if you go into medicine. Even as an international student, housemanship is guaranteed. Also, you can compete for specialist training post on equal basis with the local/EU students starting August this year.

Not too sure about other professions though...

I'm not sure about your case. As for my case, I wrote my old passport's expiry date incorrectly and the guy at VFS told me to cross it out and write the correct date on the side and he said it's fine.

I believe yours is minor too as you'll be submitting your original passport as a supporting document.
*
Hi Just one question on supporting documents, if one only furnishes the most recent previous expired passport but not the earlier ones (could not be located), does he need to furnish additional information. Will the current passport and the recent expired one will be sufficient?

Thanks for help.

P/s Sorry I had posted a new thread earlier on the same subject before I managed to read this thread.

It means the applicant just need to furnish the current valid passport and the most recent expired old passport, right?

Can I apply UK visa in other country? (Tier4 student visa)

I am in Korea nowadays, need to purposely go back to Malaysia to make the UK visa, and it may takes 10-15 days.
Then I still need to go back Korea to do something before I go to UK later.
