Anyone here joining University of Northampton for this coming September intake?

Just some quick questions here:

1) Is it convenient to rent a bike over there?

2) What would be the idea mobile carrier to apply/use in the UK? (Data plan provided?)

3) I really don't know how am I suppose to pack my stuffs lol. It would be good if you guys could assist me in this =P

Gadgets like my macbook, should i hand-carry it or stuff it in my check-in luggage?

Thank you

Hmmm. I've looked through the GiffGaff's website. It seems that the Mobile Internet rate is kinda scary.

Mobile Internet:
Mobile Internet is charged at no more than 20p a day (up to 20MB). If you go over 20MB, you'll be charged extra at 20p/MB.

Thanks for the information. Just checked, it seems that I may have to go for Three carrier. Much better coverage in Northampton. biggrin.gif Rate is about the same as Giffgaff as well.

Hi all, I have a lot of questions to asked even after reading the previous post I'm still not clear on many things on the bank issue

1. I were going to UK next month and i was kinds of worries about the bank issue cause i was unclear that u guys talking about the bank draft ......
question is: The bank draft is that issued by the local bank draft ? or you guys refer to the traveler cheque ?

2. If there any UK bank offer us to open oversea account ?

Hope that those who have experience can reply to my questions.. Thanks!

Stop reposting over and over again. People would not be able to help as they finding it hard to understand what you're actually trying to say. Please spend the remaining month to brush up bro.

No offence.

Hi, anyone know where and how much to translate birth cert for visa?
How long does it take?

I don't think you would need that as I've asked most of my friends who got accepted and they told me that it's not necessary.

nope, definitely better grabbing rice cooker from malaysia. the choices are kinda limited here. especially if you'll be staying alone, a small one is enough.
*
Sorry for my stupidness. I'm wondering how you guys actually able to stuff in a rice cooker into check-in luggage? I'm thinking of bringing one too, but I don't think it will fit sad.gif

Oh myyy. Just got my Accommodation offer today. They offered me a Twin-En-Suite room. Should I accept it?

By the way, twin en-suite = a room with 2 single beds and a shared en-suite right?

Hi, I think twin is perfectly alright unless you want single ensuite? Or you have any budget?  hmm.gif

Lol. I put that as my last option and the university gave me that. What to do. I'm fine with twin if my roommate is hygienic and no snoring xD

Guys. I'm screwed! I just realized that I filled up my Old passport details wrongly on the Online Visa Application. I did a mistake on the expiration date of my old passport. What should I do?!!!

Should I point it out to them during the interview or just pray hard that they don't notice it?

Cancel your appointment and application, initiate refund process on the website and redo a new application. All errors have to be corrected online before heading to the appointment centre. If the visa centre spots any mistakes on your form, there is a large chance they will send you home. Even if they don't notice it, the High Commission in Manila will )(they are the ones who vet through your document one last time before issuing you a visa).
*
My gosh. Wouldn't it be better if I point it out to them on Monday and see what they can do about it and then decide again?

I thought you're supposed to specify in terms of State for place of birth?

Uh, it's not my bad. She is involved in the visa form filling and process. How is 'personnel' limited by physical spaces? It applies to mobile jobs as well ( a volunteer patrolling a residential area is called a safety or security personnel. He does not have to work at a police station).

Noone misunderstood me by far, except you. My information is correct.
*
Sorry to say that. To be honest, some of your information are quite misleading. Same goes to the terms you used.

Hi guys,

Just submitted my Visa application. Just a reminder here. If you ever make any mistakes on some particular details on the visa application, you can just use a pen to cross them out and do your corrections on the side. They'll still accept the application as long as it is a minor mistakes. However, be sure to point them out to your interviewer.

Note: You don't have to cancel your appointment or whatsoever to redo the application unless you apply the wrong visa category. Good luck guys.

Hi guys, i just received a mail stated: your visa will be despatched shortly. Passports can normally be collected from the Visa Application Centre after 3 days depending on which country you applied from.
Does this means i have to go n collect it 3 days later or i can go to collect it now?
*
Took you exactly how long to receive this mail?

Hey there,

May I know how did u confirm that this is true? I'm asking because I left out a country from the list of countries I visited(it was Switzerland and its immi dept didn't stamp on my passport) but I already submitted my application and book the appointment.

I'm kinda worried if that detail has to be included and whether I still have the chance to correct it.
*
I'm not sure about your case. As for my case, I wrote my old passport's expiry date incorrectly and the guy at VFS told me to cross it out and write the correct date on the side and he said it's fine.

I believe yours is minor too as you'll be submitting your original passport as a supporting document.
