It will be a big hassle for buying last minute ticket.

now that's what i called panic mode 'on'. Probably BHC is overwhelmed with surge of application this month. and being that there are lots of holidays i.e Raya, Hari Malaysia and so on. Hope that all of us will get their visa on time.

Why should you be worried? If your father have a HSBC Premier account, you can even open a UK account before leaving Malaysia.

Why not you try booking your air ticket first with some travel agent? Because the prices are seriously hiking now and if you don't book now, chances are high you gotta pay a lot more for them.

And yea, get the ticket booked, price may not be the problem, but the number of available seats is.

I also applied on the 24th of August, I just got it this morning.
They updated the tracking website yesterday la, saying its ready for collection
So about 13 days ?

Anyways, I've got a question
Anyone of you went to do the x-ray checkup plus doctor's report ?
Is it necessary to do it ?

Where to do it in KL ?
How do I tell them what I need ? A chest X-Ray and a Tuberculosis checkup ?

it's advisable. in the immigration customs before you officially UK, they will randomly pick people (students) to do the medical checkup which cost a lot of money and waste a lot of time. so if you've got your medical reports ready you not only be exempted from doing all those things, you get to save on money and time.

you can do chest xray at a clinic or hospital. a clinic would direct you to their affiliate xray place.
just tell them you want a chest xray for the uk immigration thing cos they want to check for tb.
i think the way they check for tb is by looking at the xray. after you did the xray, you will have an accompanying report stating that your chest is fine yadda yadda.

doctor's report is the normal blood test & urine test, i think. i did that all before so i am just going to bring my old reports there (quite recent for those who want to rebuff -.-).
and the chest xray. =)

oh, for my university website they recommend students to take meningitis vaccination. so if you feel like you want to take it, you should take one.

It is strongly advised to do meningitis vaccination BEFORE you travel to UK. Meningitis seems to strike UK university students and if you got it, you may die or have permanent brain damage. Do a google on "UK university meningitis" and you will get plenty of hits. In fact, almost all UK university will ask you to get vaccinated for meningitis. It's that serious so don't play-play.

AFAIK, the meningitis vaccine available in Malaysia are children dose but it is better than nothing because it still give you some protection. So when you landed, the university will arrange for you to get the higher adult dose there.

LOL. You are spending tons of money to study in UK and you worry about cost of a single vaccination?

Anyway, it is not cheap and I not sure how much. RM50? RM100? RM150? The thing is, not many clinic will have it. If you have trouble finding a clinic having it, go try some specialist pediatrician because in Malaysia, it is mostly given to babies. Ha, babies jab for university student. That's ironic.

Tried booked air ticket with my travel agent. But over the deadline already. Rebooked again, but the deadline is 2 days only. What a hassle. Yeah the price are bloody expensive right now.

Omg, students applied on 24th August and got it on 6th. I applied on 26th until now no news at all. Should I call up?
