They say a standard of 6-8 working days, but since now it's the peak season, I think it might take a longer duration.

QUOTE(jeanyl @ Aug 27 2010, 07:48 AM) Guys ... or girls ....... This is actually some very enlightening information anyone who wants to get a mobile here might not restricted themselves to contract signing phones ... if you are not staying for long ... or actually even if you do ... I dont think contract phones are worthwhile ... Let's say, if you are signing a contract at 30 quids per month for a 18 month period, it would costs you 30 x 18 = 540 quids! Even if the phone is given free ... but on a 18 month and 30 quids pm basis, what kinda great phone would you get that would worth more than 300 quids rrp on handset? my shopping instinct and addicts had pointed me to another option -------- EBAY[FONT=Arial][SIZE=7]! though you would have to bid for the mobile (handset only), but the price is always SO MUCH lower than what it would costs if you buy it elsewhere! and IF you doesn't think you are one of those phone-talking madman ... 10 quids per month is good enough to cope with phone bills! lots of telco is offering 10 quids contract (1 month rolling contract only) with about 150 minutes and 300 text ... or more ...... the good thing about this is, you can cancel your contract anytime you want, after you had given them 30 days notice ... and frankly, i had never used out of the 150 minutes nor 300 text .... though some commercial numbers are charged separately ... but that doesnt happened often enough ... |

Hello guys, just thought of sharing this information from what I heard at my Uni's pre departure briefing. According to one senior who took emirates and stopped by at Dubai, he said most of the people there was prompted for health check.
So point to note, if u're transitting at Dubai, just have ur medical reports n x ray ready just in case |

Hei people, just wanna ask which bank should I open in UK (specifically london). Most people would recommend HSBC (the ease of setting up) but i'm not really gonna deposit a lot of money inside since i'm a sponsored student and they deduct about 4 pounds a month, just want to ask any of your opinions see which would be better, if you guys have any.
Oh yeah, we gotta pay a deposit of about 1000 pound for setting up an account right/ |

QUOTE(MisterCrono @ Sep 8 2010, 01:34 PM) Waited kinda long already for mine, applied on 26th August. Till now no news about it. Tracked my application just said been forwarded to British Hih Commission. Worry about that Why not you try booking your air ticket first with some travel agent? Because the prices are seriously hiking now and if you don't book now, chances are high you gotta pay a lot more for them.It will be a big hassle for buying last minute ticket. |

QUOTE(MisterCrono @ Sep 9 2010, 03:23 PM) Guys Nope, it means you have to go there, collect the envelope from them, and pray that your UK visa entry is pasted in your passport. Or else, it means you have to start all over again. This means .. confirmed approved? Status Your application is ready for collection; please visit the UK Visa Application Centre where you submitted your visa application to collect the same Added on September 9, 2010, 3:36 pmand visa collection time are? can i collect now? I heard it's until 3 only. QUOTE(cherub @ Sep 9 2010, 05:18 PM) Have never been rejected before, however, nothing in the sentence from VFS indicates that your application is successful. It could be the case where you only find out when you collect it personally.I've not personally seen anyone get rejected yet. Apparently I have a couple of friends who got their visas rejected due to the bank related details, well I guess that's the part where most people got rejected. |

Reporting in london now, finally. After a dreadful journey of 17 hours, I mean it's not that bad but I just hate taking long flight.
Luckily emirates service and food are not bad =D |

QUOTE(limeuu @ Oct 1 2010, 03:01 PM) for the good of your friends, don't you all think you should encourage them to stop smoking, instead of buying cheap cigarettes for them?.... In the world where people are constantly baffled between money and health, would anyone deprive the chance to earn more money because they care about ur health? Just look at our government. Sadly speaking, no. Even if there were, it's only the minority. |

QUOTE(limeuu @ Oct 1 2010, 09:19 PM) with the same logic, if your friend wants to commit suicide, you would help him do it, because he is old enough to think for himself?......... Your logic itself is not valid. or he wants you to bring in heroin for his addiction, you would do it?......... Smoking is not illegal, a heroin is. Likewise, not everybody will die because they smoke. There are tons of people who are still alive and kicking at the age of 80 even if they smoke a lot. |
