Primark quality is rather shoddy though.

Got some nice ones, though. To me, it's acceptable.

Depending on when you buy ? So what are you gonna wear while you wait for the right time to buy ? There are no banana leaves in the UK you know.

Adults don't think and write like that!

anyone know where i can go/which site i can visit/which agent i can contact for student rate air ticket?
*
Try MSL, near to Sunway Putra Place. The flight dates may make a lot of difference on the prices eventhough it may be one or two days earlier or later.

Got a question regarding the evidence on maintenance funds, will submitting bank account statements that have been signed by the bank officer be ok for the visa?
*
Not necessary to show evidence of financials now for visa application.

Any bumiputera around that can help answer this especially if you have gotten your visa. Is ASB (Amanah Saham Bumiputera) accepted as funds for visa application?
*
No. Cash in your name or parents, if required.

hi, may i know, if we really need medical report and chest xray to enter UK?
*
Now you need TB clearance report done in kl before visa application. As a tourist, not necessary unless more than 6 months stay.

So I am applying to the UK for entry in 2015 with my 4A* predicted grades. Is there any better suggestions other than Cambridge, Imperial, Manchester, UCL and Durham for chemical engineering? Assume no financial constraints whatsoever.
*
I think you got carried away with your predicted grades. And it's not ethical to come up with such prediction just as you complete your first semester.

Some unis MAY give some consideration to the forecast and the AS results. Still forecast after 1 sem is not right and does not serve a purpose.

Application deadline for Oxbridge is October, and the others Januaru, for non critical courses. Wow college is helping to preen the application!
*
Yeah, Taylor's more proactive in getting students into top universities. And other unis in which they have a more than even chance.
The other could be Methodist College.
For Sunway, it's more on the individual effort.

You got to be kidding me. Sunway oxbridge applicants had their personal statements checked by a LSE lawyer. The real places at requires more individual effort would be places like TARC.

And hey, we do write our own personal statements. If the teacher references aren't the responsibility of the college then who should be responsible? The only real help I can see are the mock interviews, which is standard practice even in the UK. The only colleges that areas that "dedicated" are KYUEM or Eton, with even prep classes for admission tests.
*
Not that I know of. Maybe since two years ago. What difference does it make to be checked by a LSE lawyer or any other lawyer. Our students tend to lose out as our ps are just not "strong" enough compared to UK based preparatory students. Our system placed too much emphasis on academic excellence.

Are you sure about that? I consulted my placement centre and I was told it is allowed. I couldn't find anything that suggests international students are not allowed to defer entry.
*
Probably they mean you apply for 2014 and then defer subject to approval. Sg students do it but that's becoz of NS.

Just met a friend the other day who is in Leeds uni . Kinda quiet there and very few Malaysians though its a mixed community. Good for extroverts and learning other cultures.

About 4 hours to London by train.

does emirates still provide extra allowance for student's check-in luggage?
*
Emirates I think is 23kg for check-in and 7kg for hand carry.

KLM for students is 46kg.

No. But I am surprised with their achievement. They really got it right and provide a very strong foundation going forward.
UK need a revamp, no doubt. But there are no where near bolehland standard.

Make sure you pack them well or you will have curry perfume on your clothes!

I cannot stress enough how important it is for exchange students to mix with the locals. There will be a huge temptation to congregate only with the other Malaysian Chinese/Malay students and spend 1-3 years only speaking English when you ask a question in class. If you do that you will miss out on a tremendous chance to expand your horizons, improve your English and build lasting contacts overseas. You've spent the last 20 years with Malaysians and you'll spend the next 50-60 years with them too, so branch out!

It might seem intimidating but just ask the person sitting next to you in a tutorial if they want to go for lunch and make the most of your time overseas.

If that guy said "Don't bother!" How?

Those are more or less the minimum required for food and accommodation. Others depending on your budget.
