QUOTE(podrunner @ Jul 1 2015, 04:51 PM) Scenario in Liverpool is the same! Is your relative back for the summer? Mine is only sitting for his exams end of the week, and OSCEs next week! Why so late on the exams? Written exams was in February and OSCE 3 weeks ago She's back for one month and going back next week for her electives.

Wow, the Ringgit against the pound is now RM6.29.
Looks like no brakes and yet to see the hike in interest rates in US and UK.

QUOTE(limeuu @ Aug 12 2015, 08:33 PM) FYI, it reached 7.1 in 2007, so it still has legs.... lol My client told me still ok. His time RM8.50 i normally send half yearly, in early Sept and end Jan but this round I got the gut feeling that its better to do it a bit early. I sent the whole year expenses last Monday and I do save quite a bit but it is still 10% over the previous year amount. I might be wrong if it strengthen over the next 6 months. The yuan devaluation has created a lot of uncertainty and sending ripples to both the policy makers in both US and UK amidst a drop in earnings of some major companies.

Old habits die hard when you are always on the lookout for opportunities and want the monies to work.
A friend of mine who has got a conditional offer this September is still waiting for the results to be out before getting things done. The argument is getting the confirmation is more important than worrying about the currency fluctuations. If only he is sure of getting accepted.... things would be different.

QUOTE(podrunner @ Aug 14 2015, 05:53 PM) Sentiments trounce fundamentals lately. I dont think the central bank should intervene further. Save our reserves for a quicker recovery.

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 26 — Majlis Amanah Rakyat Inc (MARA Inc) should sell its properties in Melbourne and use the money to disburse more student loans for Malay students pursuing their studies abroad, Perkasa’s Datuk Ibrahim Ali said today. Explaining his suggestion, the Malay rights group chief said he has received numerous complaints from Malay medical students in the Middle East who may have to discontinue their studies due to lack of funds.“These medical students have six years to study, it will be a waste if they stop halfway due to lack of money. I suggest the government, MARA to help them,” Ibrahim said. “MARA should reopen their policies to help these students, and if they claim to have no money, they can sell their Melbourne’s properties and use that money to help these students to continue their education.” MARA and its property investment body, MARA Inc, have been under fire over its Melbourne buys since Australian daily The Age exposed links between top MARA officials and certain businessmen connected to the ruling Barisan Nasional on the purchase of a student housing block in the Australian city. - See more at: http://www.themalaymailonline.com/malaysia...h.bJwPSyXX.dpuf

https://www.facebook.com/TheBMA/photos/a.10...1904794/?type=1Also:The government has decided to force through a new contact for junior doctors, resulting in unsafe working hours and a pay cut estimated to be around 30%. Sociable hours changed to 7am - 10pm Monday to Saturday resulting in an unacceptable loss of earnings, and replacement with higher paid, lower qualified 'physician assistants'. This following years of other cuts, with the 'new deal', loss of accommodation and pensions decimated (twice). We've been screwed for too long, it's time to stand up for ourselves and call for the BMA to support industrial action.

But with the depreciation of the ringgit, not many will offer overseas scholarships. Look out for Shell, Sime Darby, Bank Negara or Securities Commission.
