Given that both Jova and Kuyt are actually strikers and not midfielders, we effectively played with two midfielders : Gerrard and Lucas!

I would either haved played Poulsen and Maxi in place of Lucas and Torres (let him come on later) or Poulsen and Agger again in place of Lucas and Torres, and played Carra as LB with Soto & Skrtle as CBs. As it turned out, I think we were out-skilled (Johnson & Milner) and outmuscled (De Jong & Toure) in the middle.

Perhaps RH is still getting to know his players and has overestimated Torres and Gerrard.  This is a major hiccup!?

The only positive thing about it is that this has happened early ..
*
I hope that's truly the case as it was pretty obvious after the first half we were overrun in the midfield, yet it took so long for a substitution to take place.

On a sidenote, nobody seems to be pointing out Roy's "weird" decision to take out Torres or the poor man-marking that led to the 2nd goal. Bloody ass-licking media c*nts.

a little controversial, but anyone else hope that we get knocked out of europa league as soon as possible? for me, its just a cash cow for the owners. who cares how we fare against the lesser teams in europe.

i understand the season is long, I dont want to sound like I'm one of the few who will chime in "told you guys so"
I hate that. i would wish for things to turn out right for Liverpool FC. but clearly there are FAR too many outside distractions from the TOP that has made the club not as shinning beacon amongst the clubs in England.

excuses will be offered sure of having RH to bed in with LFc.

I for one like players like torres, monster masch. They have been shinning star players for liverpool, I never will call these players passionless. BUt its clear that there is an underlining discomfort in LIverpool amongst the players.

WE looked out of sorts against City. come on we are clearly quite similar players that would stride side by side against arsenal last week. RH tactics? Is it all masch fault? also are we missing cole?

Brighten up your eyes my fellow liverpool fans. I take caution we will have more of similar nightmare games like this if the situation up there doesnt improve.

I'm not the type to stand up first & critique javier. but its fundamental that liverpool look at themselves before we go bust ala LEEDs & Newcastle as before. Dont be too sure that it will not plague us (yet). I'm not a meassager of doom nor some fellow forumers here too but LFC needs a therapy session & they better do it fast.

the masch timing was not correct at all..but it is okie v will bounce back surely..should have played poulsen instead of lucas..even kuyt looks off form. v were beaten by the pace of man city.. torres lacks match fitness and yeah he is used to play alone upfront.. anyway it was nice to see us playin 4-4-2 after so so long..cme on joe cole..v need u..

i've said before IF liverpool avoids defeat in the first 5 games, we are on the right path.

2 games, no win yet. yes its too early to push the panic button. in my 30+ years supporting LFc, its this season I fear the most.

for me he's a gone case the moment he declared he want to quit liverpool...but someone in this forum says he's professional enough to give 100% eventho he clearly unhappy...well i guess his professional act stop after arsenal game ehhh rolleyes.gif

Well, I will admit that I am one of those. Comes as a real surprise to me that he decided to effectively go on strike. He has always given his best out on the pitch right until now. cry.gif

What made the shit hit ceiling so fast shocking.gif !?! Did something happen behind the scenes? Has RH misjudged the players' sentiments. Personally I think letting Aqualani go on loan was a stupid decision but that's just me. Too much love for Joe Cole? RH's fondness for all things Brit making the foreign legion feel unwanted?

Also, i makes me wonder, did Liverpool ever even try to make Mash's family feel settled? If that is really the reason why he wants to leave. I remember a while back when 'Big' Sam was at Bolton, before he became 'Big' - he and the club was well known for getting the most out of foreign players - the club hired all sorts of attendants, translators etc to make the player and their families feel at home. Are we too poor to even afford that? Did the departure of Maxi and possibly Insua alienate Mash?

Or was it the lure of Barcelona? I'm not too sure about that though, cause it'll be a straight fight between him and that Busquet fella, no? Also on Barcelona - Ibrahimovich seems to be on the way out. Making space for Torres in January perhaps shocking.gif ?

We at liverpool & the media seem to be in an concerted effort to 'britishise' Liverpool FC. I dont know, all i know my sentiments for Liverpool are running haywire cause I sense Liverpool may do a newcastle, we seem to be imploding within. aqualani, javier....

not good & we still have ya ya liverpool forumers. rclxub.gif

The difference is, Roy is playing N'Gog and Torres together while that will never happen on Rafa's days. tongue.gif

Anyway, was a disaster that we lose with such a big score margin.Hopefully, the lads can hold their head up and play their best football starting next match. sad.gif
