AGGER SLAMS HOGDSON'S LONG BALL TACTICS SoccernetI generally read all soccernet garbage articles with a pinch of salt but hey if this is true, the I'm totally BEHIND Agger on this one. Roy needs to realize he is in different waters now. He is no longer with Fulham now and needs to wake up smell coffee it's LIVERPOOL he's managing right now! Hoofing tactics never work with us in the past, and so will now. A CB of Agger's qualilty is just too wasteful to play this kinda tactics eventhough i know Carra supports it 100%. I fear the exit door is closing in for Agger if this is not sorted out this! Get your act together Roy!

Get your act together Roy! Hoofing tactic only works if you have Heskey type of player to knock down, and Owen pace to chase the ball, and shoot and goal. Then park the bus in front of goal until win 1-0 at the end. It is for scrapping win out of the match. If want win week in week out as a big team, then you bombarb opponent goal, not the other way round.

QUOTE(Petre @ Sep 21 2010, 04:25 PM) dont think is berbastic either 1st - torres poor defending 2nd - luck. 3rd - poor defending again so berbaslop he remains come on, give the guy some credit. i agree that we did defend poorly.... but u can change rooney;s place with berba;s and i bet rooney wont score. with regards to agger's outburst, im never fond of players voicing out against managers to the media. it shows the unstability in the team. i thought the EPL was all about long-balls. HAHAHA.... anyway, i see chelsea winningthis season comprehenssively yet again.

QUOTE(farisq @ Sep 21 2010, 03:16 PM) Since it is trolling day .... allow me to share my own piece view. Yea why not.... With regard to Torres-Oshea incident, I saw many people claiming that even if Torres was not fouled, VDS will surely get to the ball first so that's why Webb gave a yellow. Well I'm not truly convinced. Let's look at the pic... Cam1: Torres fouled. The ball not even passed three of ManU defenders. VDS about to go out... Cam2: More clear of the 3 defenders position. VDS hardly visible Cam3: Different angle IMO, it's a 50-50 chance between Torres n VDS... with Torres to go out on top with his burst of pace. look at the picture. shouldn't torres be running to his right in order to get the ball? instead, he is running straight. i think vidic or van der saw could hav gotten the ball 1st judging by the way he runs.

I am not too fond of players speaking out against their managers in public, especially when the club is in frail conditions. It serves no purpose other than fulfilling one's selfish desire. However, if the topic in question - hoofing is actually one of the root causes of the problem are facing, it makes it all the more worrying. What Roy needs to realize is that we still have a batch of internationals who has the enough experience and skill to play some decent football. Going back 2 steps is not going to do them any favour.
Also, he seems to be content with the form we are having at the moment - eg. conceding that we were lucky to get a point from St.Andrews, or openly admitting that we're lucky to have Torres against West Brom etc... Even though Rafa was always with his usual "We need to analyse the problems... I'm concentrating on the next match," he acknowledges the problem but has never been content with it. This is Liverpool, not Fulham!
Like I've said, we have 2 must-win home matches next. If we don't put out a convincing display (Which is not impossible considering we imposed ourselves on Arsenal when down to 10-men!) we might as well as prepare our farewells for Torres and Reina.

To me, it is also a sign of a gaffer who just wants to keep things simple without much worries over tactics and formations... Wimbledon and the Norway international of the early 90's...no stars, no tactics nous...just blast it forward.... sad way to play football.... This post has been edited by nando: Sep 21 2010, 05:52 PM

i dont think you all need to talked too much about MU game..at least Liverpool look more alive against them compared to the previous few fixtures..and Agger in is a bad move..personally..but Gerrard already proved he still can be dangerous from the dead ball situations..all the best..
Hopefully Joey doing okey at Liverpool...

Lucky for u becoz I have anticipated ur question This is what happened millisecond before that. He was running towards the ball then get caught by Oshea. It looks like running to the right for me. Hey, I have nothing to complain. I think ManU deserved the win simply becoz they created more chances n attack more. better concentrate on next game.
wish we could see Soto and Agger together. they're the best CB pairing on our team. Carra is slowly losing it and Skrtel still gives me hibbly jibblies at times. hopefully we can also see Babel and Pacheco in action. Babel has been severely under-used this season.

Come on, ppl just not happy bcoz we critized Nani. Torres doesn't dive, he fell becoz of contact. 1) Torres was aiming for the ball, not purposely go and knock O Shea, the early picture shows it is side by side then Torres are going to do the run. Wheather VD amble to chase the ball or the keeper able to catch the ball is not important. Important is O Shea is foul on Torres for chasing the ball. That's all. Red or Yellow is depends on referee. Not depends on Liverpool or ManU. We don't argue, better make a post who is the great diver. Nani or Torres? Do you think good? See who get the highest vote. But no point debate who is the most and what if etc..... Another thing is we have our own topic to discuss and talk. If some of you not happy, you can just speak among your friends on your topic. Please don't go to others' ppl topic and complain. Thing is simple, when you go to others ppl house, you should be polite. You don't shit at ppl's house. If you not happy with our discussion, you can create your own topic and complain. Please don't come and tried to create fire. We are here to share view, not to point and debate ppl's views. Loose or win doesn't is none of your business. We are happy being loyal fans.
