Almost all of our players were pedestrian last night. We know that with quality players in City squad, they will easily play possession football. U cannot just sit back and wait for them to give away possession. U hav to earn it. U have to play with higher tempo, chase, close down. That's what Spurs did. That's what Fulham did (against ManU).
That's why we like players like Masch who will give opposition zero time on the ball. If u play with high tempo eventually they will lose possession and (even) a 50% fit Torres can capitalise on that.
But no, the players chose not to turn up and again our skipper had to do it on his own.

QUOTE(Sifha238 @ Aug 31 2010, 01:06 AM) No offense to all Liverpool fan. I just don't get it why Pacheco name always been mentioned here like he's a "wonder kid" when RB and RH not even consider him as sub I take that u did not follow the recent European Under 19 Championship. He was great in that tournament. Well, maybe he is not a wonder kid yet but he certainly has the potential. What we ask is for him to be given more chance to play first team football.

hooo I think even Jonjo Shelvey can play better than those midfielder there. At least he showes some effort every time I see him play.
As for Milan, I think he need to play in the reserve. Clearly not ready for 1st team game.
1st half = we were predictable, slow to receive pass

I thought we stop playing after the 2nd goal and seem happy with the draw. They have been relying on Berbatov so far this season so i'm not surprised to see him scored the winner.
ON the positive note, we have already played Man City, Arsenal, ManU (n Burm away ;-p)

QUOTE(cherroy @ Sep 19 2010, 11:23 PM) Did great? Score a penalty and a freekick (which defender should brave enough to block the ball instead avoid it) is not something to proud about. The way I saw it, the free kick was a well trained set piece. You can see that one of our player pushed the wall and the ManU player responded by pushing him back which created a hole in the wall. And for Gerrard to shoot exactly at that small gap is just brilliant.

Since it is trolling day .... allow me to share my own piece view. Yea why not.... With regard to Torres-Oshea incident, I saw many people claiming that even if Torres was not fouled, VDS will surely get to the ball first so that's why Webb gave a yellow. Well I'm not truly convinced. Let's look at the pic... Cam1: Torres fouled. The ball not even passed three of ManU defenders. VDS about to go out... Cam2: More clear of the 3 defenders position. VDS hardly visible Cam3: Different angle IMO, it's a 50-50 chance between Torres n VDS... with Torres to go out on top with his burst of pace.

Lucky for u becoz I have anticipated ur question This is what happened millisecond before that. He was running towards the ball then get caught by Oshea. It looks like running to the right for me. Hey, I have nothing to complain. I think ManU deserved the win simply becoz they created more chances n attack more. QUOTE(hoooooo @ Sep 21 2010, 05:14 PM) look at the picture. shouldn't torres be running to his right in order to get the ball? instead, he is running straight. i think vidic or van der saw could hav gotten the ball 1st judging by the way he runs.

Had the chance to watch Carling Cup last nite. It was a typical liverpool performance, plenty of possession but lacking of ideas to create chances.
No standout performance from anyone in particular. Milan was ok beating his marker in 1 or 2 occasions. Babel and Pacheco had the opportunity to shine.
I noticed that Pacheco likes to play high tempo pass n move football but unable to do that with the players around him.
On the positive side, Agger is getting more comfortable playing as centre back, bringing ball from penalty area to start attack on few occasions.
Let's hope for a better performance tomorrow.

Wow our quality of play has dropped significantly this season. It's like we are using 1 or 2 gear lower than the other teams. No wonder mid n lower table team had an easy games even at anfield.
- we often caught ball watching - no determination to win the ball - Shaky performance from a few players
Before the game i thought we could get 3 points. But after the 1st half I had settled for a draw.
