It could be Babel who going to start the MU match instead of Jova since Roy substitute him in this morning match. Prefer him to start for the MU match cause we really need his pace. As for this morning match, Babel performance is not that poor. He made some decent crosses and able to outrun the Steau RB few times. And it seems that the chemistry between him and Konchesky is better than Jova and Konchesky.

I hope there will be more such performance and results like last night. Praying that last night performance will NOT be the highlight of Liverpool season

The 4th goal was brilliant...To score with 4 yellow shirts surrounding you, certainly not an easy task... I have to say N'Gog is getting better and better...More confidence now...He can still improve....

if only his marker either Wes Brown or Gary neville
but i guess SAF will pair Wes Brown/Neville alongside with Park Ji Song or Fletcher in RM pos in order to achieve a balance
Fabio will likely get a start ahead of above 2

wonder if anyone reads it but hey its a good one

lucas - poulsen, imagine we can deploy gerrard - meireles. what a big change it could be.

i do agree so far johnson has been so so. like everyone, i do hate his hair. i think a liverpool player should be worried about their on-pitch form rather than how they look in the tele. well torres is exceptional anyway. perhaps he needs longer hair to get back his form? tongue.gif

back to owners: if we do get loads of cash, why dont we:

1-buy back alonso (alonso issue again!) but wait. imagine alonso-meireles axis. yummy?

2-buy CR7. am i mad? no. he n mourinho were enemies, now they are friends. i guess he wont have any problem with us right? he is unhappy at RM anyway. i would love to see SAF's face if he sees CR& in liverpool's lineup, better still, if he socres. if this does happen, CR will be one liverpool player we love to hate and hate to love. well i could be dreaming anyway laugh.gif

From what i saw last night, Meireles's gameplay was similar to that of a certain Alberto, with braver shots. One touch, quick passes and getting outmuscled by everyone. Of course, need to see more of him.

i would welcome if alonso want to come back but he doesn't (for now) so lets just move on..

CR7? highly unlikely he will come to liverpool.. unless some major billionaire buy the club and offer him ludicrous wage. honestly, better off without him..

btw, just realized somebody reported me because of this post

Spearing also played down a moment in the first half when he could be heard with the score at 1-1 shouting, 'Come on boys, let's lift it!' - something that prompted a great reaction from the crowd.

Yes Alonso and Arbeloa is very grateful to Liverpool for turning them into what they are today...I think if Madrid decided to sell either of them and Liverpool came back for them, they wouldn't hesitate to resign for us. tongue.gif

i didn't manage to catch the first half and watched only 40 minutes of the second, but from that short duration the team played so much better than the previous 4-5 games. kudos for the great scoreline, and good to see fringe players showing what it means to be wearing a liverpool red.

didn't see what happened in the first half as reported by soccernet, but midway through the second spearing was bringing the ball forward in the middle and when he saw no teammates making any good run he yelled furiously at far more experienced teammates, not afraid of letting them know a piece of his mind. this is what i enjoyed watching. gerrard and carra used to do that every match, but i like the fact that spearing is by no means a better player but he dared to scream at players when they're not doing enough for the team, regardless of their age or how long they've been in the squad.

same with kelly. he may not be as sound as spearing, but i thoroughly enjoyed watching him chasing down opposition players down the flank, and the occasional galloping up the field a la carra-esque, not beautiful yes, but plenty of passion there.

meireles and cole were probably the difference in midfield today, both have got good feet and touches, solid passing and alert. steau may be weak but these two are in the middle of all good works throughout the match.

solid display from ngog again, at the moment he looked much better than a half-fit torres, and definitely not the same ngog we saw last season. much better control and touch, smart flicks and ambitious, still lose possession easily at times but major improvement in all departments after the summer break.

didn't see much of babel other than 3 intercepted passes in 2 minutes in the 2nd half. he has so much potential and yet it's frustrating to watch him taking the wrong options almost every other time. reminds me of garcia, exciting and agonizing to watch, but garcia surprises us more often with wondergoals and mazy runs.

the fringe players have upped the standards. how will the first team react this weekend? with displays like this players like spearing and kelly could walk into the first 11 and the senior players could not complain.
