Just get some info .. the new A560/A580 CANNOT AF in Movie mode as A33/A55 does ... all manual focus = = also no manual control ... (well looks like I felt slightly sad for this part which cannot on par with the 550D) makes A560/A580 is totally not competitive in video features against its new rival(even their brother A33/A55) but still a good option for stills camera shooting ...

guys, im looking at a certain A550 and probably want to dive into the sony alpha community, but looking at some recent posts, there is a certain a580, does anyone know how much would that cost?

if got the chance.. A33/55 is way to go coz alot of features..

man, you make it like Sony users are brand supporters and each new product must rival the other company's goods. or are you guys supporting Sony like religion / football club?

if I were a Sony users, I'll be just happy with what Sony releases and (yes, I know some model sucks. I hated the A230 / A330 / A380 ergnomics. prefers A200 / A300 / A350) go out take nice photos.

the A550 is one of the better Alpha range body. Now with A55, looks promising as well.

so rather than comparing products with what the rivals have (unless you intend to jump ship), just go out be happy taking photos. Even a cheap cheap A200 with basic SAL lenses (not need Zeiss) also can take nice photos already.

btw when you're doing video, manual focus is the way to go, at least i find it that way. I can AF in video mode but it's slow. Even if you have super fast AFing in video, it's not nice to have camera focusing wrongly when you're filming. Just focus manually. LCD also very big nowadays, you can see whether the subject is in focus quite easily. Some more Sony has tilt (or was it swivel) LCD, which is a cool thing for video-ing from higher angle.

Goldfries: haha.. If only dslrs were THAT cheap. And yea it can be frustrating to see sony releasing below par models when they can release a really competitive one. But at the end of the day the photographer makes a good photo, not the camera (most of the time).

what will be the price of a55 and a33?..it is so damn nice!....thinkin of selling my a550 body now...

i m thinkin of selling my a550 with kitlens at rm2000..but after considering....if sell already need fork out extra money for new body..then i lazy d...not selling...i love my a550..

I don't blame about AF so much ... but no manual control on A560/A580 ... I know not all the model has fully manual control but sometimes they could at least offer a model which has and in a budget mid-level camera. Well maybe I too excited about how good of fully video control to be used on DSLR as I'm interested with some video filming on DSLR.... perhaps I was too picky xD
