man, you make it like Sony users are brand supporters and each new product must rival the other company's goods. or are you guys supporting Sony like religion / football club?

if I were a Sony users, I'll be just happy with what Sony releases and (yes, I know some model sucks. I hated the A230 / A330 / A380 ergnomics. prefers A200 / A300 / A350) go out take nice photos.

the A550 is one of the better Alpha range body. Now with A55, looks promising as well.

so rather than comparing products with what the rivals have (unless you intend to jump ship), just go out be happy taking photos. Even a cheap cheap A200 with basic SAL lenses (not need Zeiss) also can take nice photos already.

btw when you're doing video, manual focus is the way to go, at least i find it that way. I can AF in video mode but it's slow. Even if you have super fast AFing in video, it's not nice to have camera focusing wrongly when you're filming. Just focus manually. LCD also very big nowadays, you can see whether the subject is in focus quite easily. Some more Sony has tilt (or was it swivel) LCD, which is a cool thing for video-ing from higher angle.

fast or not, i still don't like it. cos AF you know it can hunt. and hunting when recorded on video is NOT GOOD. at least not to me la.

hehe. 550D got manual mode also i haven't use. been using auto mode and still liking it.

video mode need what shutter speed? shutter is open once to do recording all the way.
