eugenechiuu: why ur 8gb not enough? i doubt u can fill it before ur batter finish... or both battery finishes.

ieR: i read a lot of review that says tammy 17-50mm have slow AF. is that true?

eugenechiuu: true, my batt cant even last 900 shots in my 4gb. better buy 1 few CF card so that if got error u dont waste all ur pictures.

Hmm.. Just as a backup la in a sense.. If I go travelling and happen to shoot some videos I think 8gb is not enough..

lens governs all that...

body determines how noisy your photo is at high ISO.

quality is one thing... i am talking about [b]practicality[b/]... with A200, most ppl limit themself to iso400 max, hence with F5.6 lens, u will max out at very slow shutter speed, hence u get more Blurred photo....

A200+16-80cz +lowlight = Quality blurred photo.

with F2.8, u gained a 2 stop, which is a lot in shutter speed sense. hence u get not only less blurred photo, u get nice bokeh out of it too~

so my photography career shud be tammy>body>CZ lens.

iso at 800 is really a limitation.
thats why i bought a F58 at 1st but i comes out that not every place have low celling. it comes back to iso.

to me i'll choose for body upgrade as i dun like to carry flash together werever i go.... high iso to me is important.... and now is the good time to get a550 since many ppl throwing price or sell off for the new slt....

for lens i'll choose 17-50 over 1680cz... imho i still think f2.8 is more important that the T*

Bought a Sony Nex-3 more than a month ago at a fair at BB Plaza. That time no stock for red NEX-5 with 18-55mm lens so got the NEX-3.

Long ago got a Canon SLR during Uni days and after Digi cameras came out been using it. Got the NEX-3 as wifey wanted to take photo of cakes.

I must say I use the Nex-3 as a point and shoot wihtout playing with the settings, and very impressed with it even in low light situation. But my daughter take better photos than me as she plays with the setting.

Would recommend the NEX camera to people who want to upgrade from P&S digital cameras.

Anyway, wanted to get userbar but couldn't find any. So here are a few I did.

Added on September 11, 2010, 4:12 pmman this baby drains batt like hell. i would prefer an extra batt over an 8gb card. maybe as spare or use during travel. Mind ask how much is the batt for nex?

i was comparing against the a550 and the a700.
both have about the same specs.
the noise handling seem better on the a550.
but still alot favours a700.

a700 on average is around 2.3. and a550 is around 1.8k

i assume u wrote rm1.8k for 2nd hand? actually u can get a new one for rm1.8k at zaloon. the 2nd hand value for it should be under 1.6k depending on age and shutter (condition of it)

if u are not getting into pro soon, A550 is the way to go. perhaps another year pass u can upgrade to the A7xx?

lwliam: HDR from multiple frames is meant to have very little noise. HDR from one frame is just like DRO Level 5.

Also I'd go with totally neutral WB for blogshops - you want to give the idea that there are no color casts hiding the color of the clothing. Given that the average customer might open the package while in flourescent light, they'd get a totally different experience...

Deerc: The NEX cannot send Alpha wireless signals. You can however use a flash that has an optical slave trigger with a pre-flash skip function.

Depends on your shooting style. How much perfection are you looking towards. Are you easily satisfied & how sensitive are you towards image quality.

For me I vote 50mm F1.4/1.8 (for 50mm F1.4, my acceptance of its clarity is above F2.2 and above, Im not too sure is there image quality difference for the F1.8 though). The result from the Prime is simply amazing.. both good in its colour & sharpness. Most of my photo from this lens do not require any additional sharpening and colour correction because the result is good enough.. and tend to maintain its original quality than editing it. As for other lens like my Tamron 1750 F2.8, it is good, but lack of something especially with the colour... I tend to do a lot more creative editing on photos taken with tamron than 50mm prime... cause it is harder to get the "wow" effect from this lens... mayb im just not a good user.hehe

If most of your usage is for general fast shooting like wedding, party ..or walkaround, of course tamron wont get wrong.. Focusing speed i have no complain about it.. 17-50mm .. how fast will u want it to be 16-105mm has good review.... but the inconsistent Aperture made me finally exclude this as my option...

I use my 50mm Whenever I have the chance. Other lens are just my backup lens I should get more prime lens, maybe the upcoming 35mm F1.8 hoho

Like albert said, u can wait for A55 instead.. A700 is still good and love its handling.... perfect manual control... if you like to do Studio Wireless shooting etc with many manual control with 2 control scroll. But A700 is old school.. the Noise performance cant even get close to A550 or A55.... and also no Video + Liveview
