ieR: Eh that is not off topic what. Other people come here and talk about Canon and Nikon also.

mastering89: Sweet!

lanusb: Keep it in the dry box for security since it has a lock and key.

cassplayer: Something about the picture makes me say 'imba'.

ahpingko: I would go for one with 27mm wide angle (which is quite like 18mm on your A550) as it does help with group shots.

hahaha, no la... scare holiday also... but then, i also scare later turn into heat discussion... hahaha but i strike it, at least ppl still can get read it and get rough idea whats it about.

sometimes rm 500 not as small as u might tink of...some cheaper model come have good image quality too...like my lumix lz8..only 339....

this is what a rm339 8.1mp cam can do when it is used by a pair of skilled hand..

so if this older model of digital cam can do like this, why newer model and slightly more exp 1 cant do better le?...lol...

anyway..jz for a birthday gift, price does not mean anything.. smile.gif

i m working already..but u will realise hard to fork out rm500...

i fork out a 70200G for a proposal ring cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif (sometimes think back,... i think i am childish,... should play more lens first...LOL)

shootkk: but when u look at the Bigger picture of the case... the merchant is still Unethical~~ still wrong... and still, people need to report them... because 8 years ago, when i am noob with camera, i followed my uncle to a camera shop in TS, he was dazzled into buying a olympus (when we are initially thinking of canon 400D), that oly is 4.8k! when we went online do research, we found out that camera is RRP 3.8k! WTFFFFFFFFF we stomp back to the shop, the same boy(who served us) told us money pay cant return, we insist to talk to his boss, but he phone his boss, and his boss say can exchange for extra product, gave us nonsense filter and extra batt... but still my uncle was conned 1k.... so this is his fault? i mean, its the shop being dishonest and dazzle people into buying at the first place. their INTENTION is wrong from the beginning... its no diff from conman: who uses people weakness to exploit for personal gain.

no diff from a market selling sugar with mark up price due to 'non sense excuse'

isnt it the first place, the shop should help educate people first bout what they getting into, then nicely recommend them and still, ecthically do not take advantage of money issue?

*edit: my uncle was dazzle, because the boy talk very geng, so nice till even me that time think olympus is king of DSLR and canon is lousy... boyyy that promoter is really dangerous...
----------------------------------------------------------

wei wei wei, we off topic to maintaining girls? LOL.

ahpinko
: do try read more smile.gif it helps to understand things, and, do pls go to the shop and test it out, listen to the seller what they have to say, although some are idiots, but some might gave u information that dpreview even missed.

lwliam & banzai-san: well, i think, we should learn the next level, which is called, Anticipation... i chase kids around to shoot(client children), never i use 5fps, waste of shuttle and u loose concentration.. i sure try to get 1 shot 1 kill... anticipation is a good skill to have if u can horn it. smile.gif (and yea, there are time u wan use FPS to make a motion photo collage, which is very nice too)

addition infomation: A550. normal single shot VS 3/5fps and 7fps piority.
for many who might never notice, when using A550 model, try use normal single shoot if possible. at 3/5 and 7 piority, noise reduction is disable (although some might start to argue the CMOS has built in NR, yes, but i mean post-process jpeg NR). meaning u'll get raw noise on jpg. when u use single shot, u will notice drastic noise reduction (and better sharpness) even at iso3200 is noise level is like iso1600(no NR in 3/5/7 fps), and if u activate high NR, the photo turn even more crisp.

Firstly I guess it's my own fault for not doing any research for uv filters cause I never thought that I would need one.. Actually now I think back I dun really need it also.. I would choose the cheaper option most of the time since I always do my research before buying something.. Just that the seller is quite sneaky as well and a lot of things he did made me buy that overpriced filter.. He seemed all nice and really helpful which made lower my defense.. Besides, it's quite a reputable shop in garage sales that's why I never thought they're like that also!.. I choose not to defame the shop because I know a lot of shops do this as well.. Who wanna know which shop is it just Pm and ask me..

I am just feeling a bit unhappy because I am only a student and I worked full time the past 2 months just to earn half the budget for the camera.. The money conned is already more than a quarter of my monthy salary..

ieR : Man... this is getting waay OT but...

In no way did I ever say that what they did was right. It's morally wrong of course but what I'm getting at is that because of our preference to choose only the one with the lowest price without any consideration to other factors, we are indirectly encouraging this kind of practice.

What you say is true. That's the ideal scenario. Merchants should employ knowledgeable and ethical employees but these employees don't come cheap and they don't get appreciated. Consumers run next door to buy where the price is RM10 cheaper and have cheap, rude and 'don't know nuts' employees which are a dime a dozen. To survive, the first merchant will have to cut cost and ultimately we all end up with cheap, rude and 'don't know nuts' sales persons.

Another thing I have a lot of doubts is because the camera wasn't even sealed when I went there.. And before that when asking about stock, at first say no stock then suddenly got stock... Besides that, the missing rear lens cap really add up and make everything looked like a big scam...

to be honest... they are comparing with DSLR 16mm... i mean, the distance from the lens to sensor is diff, mirrorless is much closer, definitely will have distortion issue... they should compare with other mirrorless 16mm... and honestly... the overall quality (inculding build) is by far, the best 16mm in the market for mirrorless IMHO

errr the 16mm is a F2.8 lens, its a bright lens, means it can shoot better in low light condition.

the 18-55 is normal kitlens (i dont think its normal if it has OSS, motor, and DMF... @.@) but still, i think there is no smooth feeling of 18-55 in the market as good as the SEL1855.... how i wish sony make a SAL one excately like that... LOL

hahhaa, no la, just giving an example..
i seldom use my full 5 fps as well except when i was panning at sepang and doing group shots (to avoid the 'blinkers' - even so, its probably only taken in 3 shots) and yes, i agree on the anticipation as i do it most of the time waiting for 'the moment'. friends have asked me why is the camera stuck to my face for so long looking into a scene and yet have not pressed the shutter, i just say "wait for it, wait for it". its when AFTER i pressed the shutter and i've showed them the result they understand why.

i also just like ahpingko last time... wanted to buy cheapo compact. then people suggested TX-5... like... hmmm.. if i had the money.. i wouldnt even plan on buying a cheapo compact...

but hey... to each his own.

btw, the TX-7 is going cheap (not cheapo la) rm1388 last i saw...
*
i could have suggested TX-9 straight away..

i am suggesting TX-5 because its an older generation..is still a great compact and would be slightly cheaper...

ah never mind. smile.gif
