It is not uncommon for merchants to "swap" stock. for all we know, your online merchant may not have his own stock or his own brick & mortar shop. he may be taking stock from a normal camera shop, earning a few bucks by passing the stock to you. this is a common practice among merchants (me included). it is also not uncommon to have a broken seal camera box, because he may had to open the box to see if everything is inside or not. Or maybe he had opened the box for another buyer to see, but last minute, the buyer said dun want to buy (hey, not surprising but it happens...).

However, it is unethical not have explained why the seal was broken beforehand (he could had told you he opened it earlier to check), and it is even more unethical to sell you overpriced filters to cover his cost and said "that's the way business goes". to me, that is pure bullsh!t. 

So i guess it is a lesson well learnt for you, Eugene. Do your research right. Know what you need to buy and what you don't need to buy. I remember a couple years back, this thread is full of advises on what to do when confronting sales person in a camera shop. One of the most repeated advise is to survey the price for the cheapest camera equipment and buy ONLY the camera equipment you intend to get. do not get the accessories because they are going to jack up the price to cover their reduced margin from selling you the camera equipment cheaper. It is an age-old trick which seems to work, every time. unfortunately, it is you this time...... 

just wondering, how long does a lens mounting system last before becoming obsolete? 20 years?

Oh dude, noticed your profile lol.. I am actually from KK as well... The seller said it takes 1 week for the rear lens cap to arrive, but I am already going back KK this weekend.... So he said he can courier to my KK address... I hope he really does it la... The temporary 'cap' he gave me doesn't fit the lens at all... Now I am in such a dilemma on how to bring my camera out for usage..... Can only bring out 1 lens while have to pack the other one nicely in the box...

Anyways, got a Tripod today for rm50.. I hope I didn't get conned this time.... I wanted to get a cheap one but sturdy enough for NEX-3 with 1855... The one i bought looks good enough to do the job also, the guy demonstrated it with a NEX-3...

is the tripod those light weight aluminium with 3 extendable leg sections? it will work well with your NEX, but 50 bucks is not to say standard price either. oh well, what's done is done... go out and shoot more ya

unfortunately, it happen to me 5 hours ago (not to me, to the seller)... my GF wife bising bising wan a compact camera, and fell in love with TX5.... so have to bring her to get one... but the first package(sealed), the ON button area, the 'plate' thingie is a bit loose @.@ so we ask for another one (scare not waterprood later >.<) but the new one (sealed), same thing, but i tell her its alright, maybe is the design flaw, but so far no ppl complain YET. but somehow, i paiseh make the seller unseal the first box and dunwan >.<

got tx5 to play with~~~ now i can shoot under the rain @.@

The NEX-3K/W (white NEX-3 + kitlens) and NEX-3K/R (red NEX-3 + kitlens) are not on the site.

However you can get the NEX-3D/W (white NEX-3 + kitlens + pancake) or NEX-3D/R (red NEX-3 + kitlens + pancake).

Note that none of the Sony official websites are very reliable (the US and UK one, apparently, have a lot of mistakes).

Despite the mistakes, it could be that Sony Malaysia really does not bring in the white and red NEX-3K. Different countries will pick which model to sell here. For example, Japan does not sell the A850 because Japanese apparently don't want or need a lower-spec cheaper camera. Malaysia did not sell the A380 and A500 officially.
