QUOTE(Ciku @ Mar 21 2011, 08:11 AM) i'm trying play with Manual, at the lowest iso at the night shots, image is black...i cannot see anything, just some heavy light from the lamp that i can see.. what else i need to setting? shutter speed, white balance or anythings else.. do i need to open flash? start of with P settings, then once u r ok, then you proceed towards AV and TV, once u r done, then only go M! i like to take supermoon snapshot... |

I got a joby gorilla stand. Really helps getting the position that I want to take those iso 80 night scene pics. Those pics can be stunning and looks very professional!
Practicing the night pics in manual really helps. You'll understand manual very easily because the different results are easily noticed. You will know what does what just by playing at night. Only anooying part is to sit and wait for the camera to take 20s to finish taking its picture. Its only 20s but it feels like 3 minutes! |

QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Mar 11 2011, 10:40 AM) Wanna add my 2cents onto this. how about compare with Olympus xz 1- There isn't really any real difference in image quality between the enthuasiast compact crowd. I mean.. the difference is sooooooooo small that one will have to scrutinize really deeply to see any minute difference even in a perfect scenario. In actual use, I would say its zero - Interface wise, S95 better especially with the dual control ring and set button to bring up the quick menu. LX5 distinct tiny d-pad buttons are not so friendly for man-sized fingers. - Size wise... its up to preference. - Speed wise.. S95 faster to operate. - LX5 advantage is its faster lens fully zoomed out and its wider 24mm end. |

I just got a S95 for over a week now, liking it very much especially the indoor and low light shots. For RM1254 I got an original canon leather case and Type 4, 4GB SDHC card. Well the screen protector I got was smaller, any idea where to buy a S95 intended screenie in KL/PJ and how much? Not so much into cutting and fashioning one myself. Cheers.

Go and buy 1 from Daiso, look for the biggest piece for RM5, enough for at least 4 or even 6 pieces to fit S95
