Just wandering since all of you have been discussing it.
Android also can install ahem ahem applications just like symbian?
*
For the purpose of discussion, i shall explain once and that's it.

Android install files in the form of .apk.
If u bought a file, and u upload the .apk online, can someone else use it?
Of course can.
Therefore yeap.
Android, iOs and Symbian all can install ahem ahem edition of ahem ahem software.

For more details, ask the experts.

P.S. - Any error, please correct TQ

Going forwards, it will not be as easy as now to use pirated apps on Android
http://www.androidauthority.com/index.php/...t-pirated-apps/

Anyway, please do not openly discuss where or how to get certain pirated apps here.

Guys,

My phone is using SLCD and i On my phone by holding the BACK button, my HBOOT is version 0.83xxxxx. So i believe i have to follow instructions from here to root? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=748618 . So right now, before i proceed to rooting what precautions i need to do?
*
QUOTE(samurai1337 @ Aug 22 2010, 04:55 PM)
Same step actually compare to HBoot 0.80 and 0.75, the only difference is that you need to flash a special "ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5.0.1 SLCD" in unrevoked

precautions? As usual, do a backup, and be patient and extra careful while flashing radio.
*
Alright I guess i'll follow the instructions on the link, then use titanium backup after i root. So if i decided to use Next sense rom, I gotta download the Rom and its Radio right?

So after root and backup, how do i flash the rom and radio. I'm downloading next sense n rom and radio from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=742371. Will they have instructions there?

Instructions on Rooting and ROM flashing are more or less the same, I followed this one when I did mine:
http://rootmydroid.co.uk/guides/desire/how...our-htc-desire/

Yours will be the same as well (with the only exception on the SLCD recovery image)

If you want to use NextSense 5.3 A2SD+, you also need to do a partition - EXT3 512MB, Swap 0MB, the rest - Fat32 (bear in mind that every time you partition all data in SD card will be lost, so do a backup first and restore afterward)

Nope. Brut/ Squrl map still uses data to download map.

You must NOT move first in order to get the GPS fix your location. As you drive around, it can't locate. Usually, I will wait till the getting direction gone before I start moving. It will be damn accurate after that wink.gif
Don't feel anything interesting there.
Call meter NG / Credit alarm / 3G watchdog.
Root it and get A2SD+

Hi again KTCY,

I managed to get the googles navigation to work smile.gif But not happy with it, not as versatile as garmin or papago. When I go off the suggested route it will say data connection lost.
Furthermore, like you say, it needs data, then I think I shall stick to Papago X5 for when in Msia, and try to figure out what to use when overseas (maybe Ndrive, maybe Sygic, if i can get it to work.....)

and we will see some android app hacking release group soon.. there are many famous app hacking group for symbian, soon i guess there would be many appearing on android.. all those apps will be hacked and the market security check will by bypassed.. there will still be pirated stuffs but reduced greatly and delayed since it would take time for it to be spread out.. on the other hand, the good side of google implementing that is that developers will have more faith on the community and develop more cool apps.. rclxms.gif

Any idea whether Papago X5 uses data connection? I tried starting the X5 just now, then exit the program. However, in the battery usage section, i still see the X5 running and no option to force stop the program. And i could not turn off the mobile networks.
