Try use MarketAccess, a free app -  is a very much better alternative, infact is an enhanced version of Market Enabler. ME is known to be incompatible with some roms but not MarketAccess. If you use market enabler, when you select the Telco, you have to hold down the telco name so that a prompt box will appear for you to select it

thanks for the tip, now can access paid app. biggrin.gif

You know what, it's merely UP TO YOUR OWN needs.
I might need 16gb for more space and can tolerate with a little slow speed but some need super fast card and not needing that big capacity of card !!
Understand your need instead of keep asking others recommendation as by the end of the day you YOURSELF are the one who using.
I can even suggest you 32GB class 10 or 16GB class 10 from Kingston. Can you afford it ? Do you actually need it ?

Think about this. samurai1337 did mentioned in few pages back that you SHOULD do your own research instead of keep asking question like this. It's pointless and kinda annoying as it's up to OWN PREFERENCES !!

Hope you understand what I'm trying to tell wink.gif
*
totally agree. I am getting 8GB Class 10 at the moment becoz 16GB Class 10 is quite hard to find and expensive at the moment. I dun really need that big capacity, so 8GB should be quite enough for now. If I want bigger capacity, I will settle for class4/6 16GB then. Ultimately, most likely I will upgrade to the next 4.3" HTC with HDMI output and pass my Desire to my wife. So 8GB is definitely more than enough to her. But may need at least 16GB for my next HTC. tongue.gif

It really boil down to what you need not what ppl recommend. smile.gif

Anyone using Papago on froyo?

Im using PapagoX5 on NextSense5.3 custom ROM. Note that there is a *clap* sound during the pauses in between the voice navigation. I was on stock eclair 2.1 previously and the *clap* sounds did not appear. Wondering if this papago has not fully support froyo yet  hmm.gif
*
the clapping sound is "normal" laugh.gif I have that too using the same setup as you - Desire+NextSense 5.3+Papago X5. But I just ignore it or set the sound to mute.

hi, bro KTCY, can we make the ext2/3/4 bigger than 512MB to install more apps? laugh.gif

btw, is the following steps correct for upgrading my current 2G SD card to 8GB, and at the same time upgrade ROM to nextsense 6.0?

1. Backup all apps+data with Titanium Backup.
2. Go Recovery >> Nandroid >> Backup
3. Copy all the files in 2GB SD card to computer then remove it from phone.
4. Insert new 8GB card and copy new Nextsense ROM into it.
5. Wipe Data/Factory Reset.
6. Flash the ROM.
7. Reboot.
8. Install Clockworkmod to make ext partition.
9. Copy back all the files from computer - the 2GB card files.
10. Install Titanium Backup.
11. Restore the backup.
12. Done.

hi, KTCY, why some recommend 0 swap while some recommend 32MB swap file size? I think I did the max 256MB size using the Clockworkmod app. I can use a new size when I setup my new 8GB card later if the 256MB is not recommended.

and I research around and found that there is another way with gparted live boot cd to do the partitions but the FAT32 partitions will be made first, follow by ext3 and then swap. (Link - Click me nod.gif ) Any idea of the logic there? Using the Amon_RA recovery method will have the same effect (if that sequence - FAT32>.ext3>>swap is recommended).

appreciate your advice/guidance. smile.gif

Correct , no need receipt. About 3  years ago, I sent in my KL purchased HTC phone  to htc Spore Harbour Court. They just key in Serial number and onspot could see warranty expiry date. Best of all replace the motherboard FOC, I only pay transport costs going there. I see same type of acceptance for Apple products - ipod bought in UK, service in KL also FOC and I don't have receipt . But cannot say same thing for Samsung and Nokia - no receipt, sorry lah !
*
haha... that's was 3 years back. I heard some Spore HTC users highlighted that sometime the service centre there do not honour the warranty if you do not have a receipt from telcos, notepad type written receipt was rejected sometime. But for some, the HTC service personnel dun even ask for receipt, just check their system for your serial and accept the phone for repair. One thing quite sure, they dun bother whether you root your phone or not, even for some users that bricked the phone becoz of failed rooting.

I only found out that after I got mine from a handphone shop and was given a notepad type written receipt. sweat.gif

Tried that. Even rebooted and try to redownload but it fails. Like my Adobe Photoshop Express, it is at 100% 1.28mb/1.28mb but just like that nia. Nothing happens.

how about restart your phone? I will do that if something hang or whatever. laugh.gif

Seems like there is a common problem on Android. System cannot detect hidden SSID wireless network. Manually added the SSID still not able to connect. Been goggling around, no solution....  shakehead.gif
*
Mine no problem connecting to hidden SSID wi-fi - stock Desire 2.1 rom or NextSense 5.3 both no problem.

But I found out that if your wi-fi router is using other than Channel 6, Desire will take more time to connect, sometime dun even connect. Try change the channel at your router setting to Channel 6.

Hidden SSID with WPA2/PSK authentication?
*
yes, my home router is set to hidden SSID with WPA2/PSK and the channel was set at 11. Then I found that my Desire can connect quite fast to other router (at office, at my brother's house, etc all using default Channel 6). But at home, the Desire can't connect to the router sometime coz it can't detect the signal. Thus, I switch to Channel 6 and the problem seems solved. nod.gif

hi, bro KTCY, you 16GB Kingston not sold yet? still see it at your sig.

btw, does the Kingmax 8GB Class 10 come with SD adaptor for it to be slot into a SD card reader? Can I use the old microSD 2G into other devices with an adaptor? I am thinking of putting it into my Garmin GPS for storing maps data.

regarding the partition, I think most is using 512MB ext3 and no swap. Anyone here using more than 512MB? I am currently using 512MB ext3 and 256MB (iirc) swap done by Clockwordkmod app, do not have any problem so far. Why swap is set to 0?

Any link to further reading is appreciated. I am quite blur on this ext3/4 and swap settings - what is the recommended size, why is the size recommended, how is the performance hit if using other size/settings, etc.

once I got my new 8GB card later afternoon and flash the rom to NextSense 7.0, if everything running smooth like silk, I will just stick with it unless there is a significant improved new release, cannot be rom flashing addicts like some of you here. tongue.gif

But, want to find out too the question raised by bro chding: What is this "Semi based on 2.10.161.2"? Does this mean the "Fully based on 2.10.161.2" will be released tomorrow? rclxub.gif laugh.gif

bro.. u using the latest radio or the .20 ones? working fine?
*
got newer radio than .20? I saw the requirement of NextSense V7.0 still the same:

Requirements:
-Latest Radio 32.43.00.32U_5.09.00.20
-Partition ext2, 3 or 4 wiped (for APP2SD)
For a best running of rom should do a Wipe Factory Reset and wipe at ext partition.

I have currently 5.3 in my Desire which I already flash 00.20 radio when I installed the 5.3. So no need to flash new radio, right? Where to download new radio (if it is better to use the latest)? Thanks.
