ehh.. after i install titanium backup ( from market )
it says error :

sorry, i could not acquire root privileges, this application will *not* work ! please verify that your rom is rooted and includes busybox and try again
shud i get ahem version of it or ??
i tot as long as i have the superuser permission means i've root my phone successfully ~
*
i think titanium backup requires busybox if i'm not mistaken and u can get it by flashing custom rom that has it. root using unrevoked wont give u busybox.

*

Yes.

maliqu3, since you write the guide, I have a question if you don't mind, I'm just being curios tongue.gif

5. Right click on Android 1.0 and click 'Update Driver Software' and choose 'Browse my computer' then select the folder where you extracted 'android-usb-driver.zip'. Once done, reboot and disconnect the phone.

Why do we need to reboot the phone since the software is for USB driver of the PC? What happens if we skip it?

because you need to go to phone settings and do the next step. if u do it and follow my guide u will understand why it's needed.

welcome to the dark side!! rclxms.gif

dont worry, you will be fine. the percentage to brick ur phone is small, it can be fixed anyway.

after u make partition, ur sd card will be formatted (all files will be gone). that's why b4 u do partition, copy the titanium backup folder into ur pc. after that reinstall titanium backup and copy back the backup folder into ur sd card.

you backup with titanium first. then take out the titanium backup file and put it into the pc. after partitioning put the backup file into the sd card again and then reinstall titanium backup.

well yesterday i tried to root my friends desire which is already on froyo official OTA and hboot .92.. downgraded to hboot .80 and tried to root with the old school style.. epik fail! hahahahahha.. it just wont do it, getting error 43 all over and over again...

finally tried the 1 click unrevoked, done in just few minutes.. sigh.. i wonder where did i go wrong.. but at last, unrevoked helped out.. i didnt flash the permanent recovery btw, just root and using clockworkmod.. seems that clockworkmod very easy and fast to be done.. saves quite an amount of time

I guess you misunderstood, reboot = restart. I'm not turning off my phone. I just skipped the rebooting process, with my phone in turned on state smile.gif
