wanna as question... so if my pc never install HTC Sync...
do i have to Install it and then remove the HTC Sync ??
cus yesterday i tried, after i install the HTC Sync, i get 2 app > HTC Sync , HTC Driver something

So first thing first... if my pc doesn't have HTC Sync installed.. do i have to
1. Install HTC Sync, Remove HTC Sync and then remain HTC Driver thing

2. Don't need install HTC Sync, straight root the phone with unrevoked

oo.. where can we see the Amon Ra recovery ?? never saw that before... is it when rooting process it got selection of "Amon Ra Recovery" ??

another question is :
I saw someone said that i need to remove HTC Sync and then remain the HTC Driver thing... after i finish root + flash.. do i have to reinstall HTC Sync ??
or the HTC Sync is useless thing?? if i didn't use it to sync any data between pc and phone ??

Can unrevoked used in win 7 32 bit ? biggrin.gif
since KTCY said he failed to do it in win 7 64..
but i saw someone in the forum said they success in rooting in win7 64bit
i think u can forget about rooting if you dun take that method to downgrade to 0.80
or u just wait some expert that come out with the unrevoked which works on 0.92
*
haha someone in the forum that use win 7 x64 and root using that is me~~ thumbup.gif

As long as you have the Driver, then you can proceed with that regardless of keeping the HTC Sync or not.

oh.. some of the guide i saw... i forgot is rooting / flashing rom / flashing radio,
they asked to delete HTC Synch oh ~

http://smarty-money.blogspot.com/2010/07/g...-phone-new.html

Point no :
6. After you installed HTC Sync on your PC (you should have installed it from the begining before you do these rooting steps), now uninstall it from 'Control Panel' but don't uninstall HTC Driver Installer. After you are done uninstalling, reboot your PC.

yes, as mentioned by others, just need the driver but HTC Sync need to be uninstalled.

I am actually follow the guide here: http://rootmydroid.co.uk/guides/desire/how...our-htc-desire/. It mentions Amon Ra at no. 10 Step 1.

I dun find HTC Sync has any use to me, so after I uninstalled it I never install back.

I did the rooting and flashing with my Win7 32-bit laptop.

EDIT: As I did not install Amon Ra, i din follow the guide of A2SD+ in that guide. Instead, i download clockworkmod from market and use it to partition. I believe it is easier to use clockworkmod to partition.

Hi guys, regarding partitioning SD card to use Apps2SD+ features, can I set 1GB in the ext3 instead of 512MB?

Make swap=0, ext3= 1024, fat32 = balance

Is the above setting to be when using ROM Manager to partition? blush.gif

Question:

When you see the recovery screen, use the trackball to scroll to ‘Nandroid‘ and press the trackball to select. Then select ’Backup‘ (You can also use ‘Restore’ to restore)

Once did the Nandroid... I don't need to copy the content of the image to my pc ?? it will stores magically the image ?? cus when we do the
Wipe Data/Factory Reset
i tot it will delete all stuff... so the Nandroid image won't get deleted ??
cus i dun see he said need to plug in to pc and save the image of the nandroid..

I just follow it. Wipe data/factory reset only done on your phone memory, the SD card will not be wiped. Only when you make partition, the SD card will be wiped out.

I've been having problem logging in to Google Talk in my hotel wifi and office wifi in Ireland... Wondering if it is blocked or what? There's no problem logging in to GTalk via my PC though

Also, in KL I can login to GTalk via my home wifi or 3G connection, but having problem connecting to GTalk via my KL office Wifi

So can I confirm that Gtalk doesn't really work for certain wifi connections?

yes, more or less like that. tongue.gif before doing partition, only about 67mb phone memory available. After the partition, the free space increase to 132MB, awesome. thumbup.gif

the normal A2SD like not useful as many apps still can't be moved to SD Card. doh.gif

titanium restore (DO NOT do full restore. Restore your apps and data one by one manually) should be done after your last step "DONE!"... laugh.gif

yes, correct, after flashing rom but before partition, free space of phone only 67mb. after you do partition, the free space increase to 132. rclxms.gif

bryan_823 - for some reasons many developers don't recommend an ext3 partition more than 512MB...

I've had it set to 768MB but I saw in QuickSystem Info it's only 688MB - no idea why. But still it's very fast to me and no issue using it smile.gif But at the end of the day I guess 512MB is more than enough

wish you good luck!!!

btw, did you get a new bigger microSD card? I am using the stock 2GB, now my card left only 100MB++ space. Need to get at least a 8GB one.

I think i overheard some of the bros are receiving their Kingmax Class 10 8GB. Any update on the performance? Very keen to get one now.
