![]() Is it me or is it Celcom Broadband Prepaid Pack is becoming quite hard to cari? From the news, Celcom CEO announced that they will launch two new products in next two weeks. Does this mean that one of it will be a new broadband prepaid simpack? I better get the current one before no more. My friend try to find it througout the Kuching city including Blue Cube and most of them is out of stock. |

I paid RM100 on last Friday (3-6-2011) for the postpaid Celcom Broadband package which cost RM68 per month. They gave me a Huawei modem which have like 7.2MBps. On first day i.e on Saturday morning I was still able to watch some korean drama. Then by afternoon, the connection was slow like tortoise.
Theres a sign that there is 3G Celcom present on the Celcom Broadband console but can't even connect at all.Since I am staying in Semenyih, I thought it was the location issue. Then I called up 1111 which is their customer service. They advice me to go to the Celcom console, then go to tools menu --> Option --> Network and then they ask me to change Network Type from 3G Celcom to Edge/GPRS and the band remain as all bands. They told me there is nothing wrong with the Semenyih area and this is due to sharing ie too many people sharing the the same network. They told me every ISP facing the same problem. The Celcom customer service also reset the connection of my modem to Celcom and also ask me to create a new profile for the connection. Then on the console, a new sign appear as EDGE MY CELCOM. After all the above is done, I was able to connect but then I can only surf the net and cannot download as it was still slow. This persist for until today evening. Now its faster and I am able to continue my download of Yahoo Messenger. The Celcom Broad Band I think is only good for the weekday, on weekend when everyone is at home and accessing to the broadband the same time, its would be torturing. |

finally celcom have fix 'subspeed' problem and now i can see my usage...
lilyginger: how your speed now? wow, customer service ask you to use edge coverage? do he/she know what gprs/edge can do? i suggest you to register an acc. at OCS, so you can monitor the usage, maybe your speed slow due to exceeding quota. there are no maxis 3G coverage in your area? if celcom too slow, maybe can consider other provider. Hello all..I need to ask some of ur opinion..any help and advice is really appreciated..
I am now on the Celcom D68 plan..I have to say that as I am an average user, it suits me well..although this past few months, I have used up the allocated 5GB cap early in the month and so I have had my speed 'managed'... I am curious about trying out other services like Streamyx or P1..I used to have Streamyx but at that time (2-3 years ago), the speed was absolutely horrendous and I decided to stop using it and turn to Celcom Broadband..now Im wondering if Streamyx has improved their services or not..but my main worry is that as I regularly work away from home, I need something like my celcom broadband so I can carry it around anywhere..thats a problem with Streamy isnt it? Or is there a package that could be suitable for me? Similarly, im curious about testing P1 as I see it being good for moving around and even if I balik kampung, I still can bring it along with me..but I have heard some bad reviews about P1 so that puts me off.. So my question is, is there any other better alternatives than my current Celcom Broadband D68? What Im looking for is: 1) Same or similar monthly fees 2) Good and fast coverage 3) Mobile meaning I can use it anywhere but would still consider fixed lines options I have no problems with my current broadband and would be happy to continue using it..however, my curiosity wants me to ask opinions of others.. any replies is appreciated..thanks This post has been edited by dxjb: Jun 8 2011, 05:09 PM |

Yaw, i'm new here and i'm using the mobile broadband weekly (RM18)...
and i've got a problem when the internet will only be super extremely fast early in the morning. after about 30 minutes, the speed will be as speed as snail on watery floor. What the hell is this? *btw, torrent is not affected by this phenomenon. This post has been edited by King.Ikki: Jun 13 2011, 05:05 PM |

heh, compare to u guys experience, what i have been through from friday is a walk in the park.
friday morning. i left my pc with internet connection on because i am doing the folding project. came back around noon see the connection dced. tried reconnecting, manage to connect but cannot browse. called celcom center and they say network problem, please try again later to see if can connect or not. friday afternoon. around 5 pm i tried again still no luck in connecting. open up fire fox and i got a weird error msg that says my credit has expired or run put.please reload to continue to use xpax. i thought my line expired already so i went out buy rm100 reload. friday evening reload the rm100 then check the balance is rm00.27. called the center again and they say in the system got record i reload rm100 but maybe the other system not updated. they ask me to check it on saturday morning. so now i have 2 problems. 1st is internet cannot browse and that weird message. 2nd is my lost rm100. called center again because the customer service guy didnt address my broadband issue. i was passed to the broadband section and followed all the instruction that was given including restarting my pc 2 times and some weird stuff i dont see relevant to my problem. still no connection. saturday morning 530am. tried my internet connection again and still cannot browse and the error message still pops up.my balance also is still at rm00.27. called the center again still they cannot pinpoint what is my trouble. 1pm saturday. finally i had enough and i called the center again and was quickly pass to i think a higher rank technician coz she was very quick in finding what happen to my account. it seems that somehow the celcom server terminated my weekly plan and started to charge me rm0.10/kb form 10pm friday morning. and when i reloaded the rm100 it just continued to eat my credit. the server actually finish rm100 worth of credit in 5 minutes. so now i am stuck with a line which i cant reload coz everytime i reload it will suck my credit dry and they say it will take 3-5 days of working days to settle my problem. i am going to fucuk who ever calls me from celcom and demand my 5 days of internet back. |
