did you means sound proof ? or how much will it cost ?
cos this is a cheap car, if spend too lot on it.....
*
I have the totally opposite thought against you.

Becos this is a cheap car, i dun care to invest few thouand into soundproof and ICE, after all i get what i want wif cheap car.

But mind you soundproof is poison, when u start, u will know.

My experience is like this,

1st i deadening the whole floor and wheel arc inside the cabin, then road noise improve alot, but seems like the front noise still obvious, so

2nd i deadening and soundproof the fender+mudguard as well, wow, now the tyre noise from front almost eliminate, but now the engine, wind and rear tyre noise more obvious, so

3rd i DIY 3 layers front door deadening last weekend, front tyre noise and engine sound insulation improve further, now only left the wind sound and rear tyre noise.

4th today i just purchase soundproof door rubber online, will wait and see the result.

5th upcoming weekend i will DIY rear door and rear boot deadening.

You know how much i spent for this so far?

>RM2000 adi, and is just within a month,

I feel that just like mad man and can't stop improving my car, is like addicted, but afterall my B-line manual is still cheaper than RM40k if i done all the soundproof job, for me worth it. thumbup.gif

To all BLMer, want to share the soundproof rubber that i installed just now.

The wind sound is gone at same speed, it also block some road noise and engine sound, when ur car go through the uneven bump, u can feel the huge different,i have to say very satisfy with that.

The soundproof rubber is OEM one, not the sticker type, u need to pull out the ori flat rubber and snap in the new rubber, now close door very solid, and it helps to minimized the door rattling as well, worth to try.

Anyway, those rubber for 4 doors is RM150, you can get it from Cari forum.

Guys, any1 here had alarm problem before?

Just now for no reason, suddenly i can no longer arm the alarm. When i press as usual to lock the car, instead of 'tuut tuut' twice and lock, it goes 'tuut tuut tuut tuut tuut tuut' then stop, but no lock sad.gif. And now i can no longer arm and lock the alarm sad.gif
*
Open all ur doors and boot lid and slam it as hard as possible. I'm serious, most probably due to boot lid.

I am 185 cm tall and I fit very comfortably in the driver's seat (pushed all the way back though, but I pull it forward a bit if there is someone sitting behind me), front passenger and also the rear seats. Due to the high roof there is plenty of headroom smile.gif I am quite surprised that this car is a better fit for me than the Persona.

I also know someone who is even taller than me who drives this car.

The only drawback is that I can't read the speedometer and tachometer properly (if the needles goes above 1500 RPM and 40 km/h) as the steering wheel obstructs my view. If the wheel could be pushed a bit higher then that would solve the problem. It's no big deal for me though, I've grown used to it. HUD mod, anyone? tongue.gif

Hi everyone, I received my white BLM SE manual eleven days ago; still getting used to the gearbox and clutch as I have not driven a manual since my driving test a few years ago. So far I am very pleased with the car, it's done 676 km so far (37 km when delivered) and as I'm taking the car to KL tomorrow it should be ready for the 1000 km service when I come back.

The height of the steering wheel can adjust one...

no offense but you should start with the 4 door.
boot area is okay thou if you want a richer bass sound on aftermarket audio system.
*
Adi Done on earlier stage. smile.gif

1. Whole floor deadening --> 2. Mudguard+Fender --> 3. Front door 3 layer --> 4. Boot --> next should be rear door 2 layer.

just done deadening 4 door today, a little bit improvement..

which noise u want to isolate actually?

If u want to isolate road noise + engine noise, mudguard, fender and wheel arc is a must.

Try fully open ur front door, look at the hole at the door joint, u can clearly see there is uncover big hole through the fender to the engine, everytime when the engine fan rotate, u can feel the hot air from the engine. Apply deadening on the fender and use soundproof material to cover the hole from inside the fender, u will get big improvement in terms of engine noise and road noise.

Yup, i usually hear rattles when the road is uneven and when your turn up the music quite loud. Rattling from the front doors and the centre console area.

Will soundproofing help to reduce these? I can live with it, but its annoying at times.
*
Soundproof won't help, but deadening (anti vibrate).

My front doors now is free from any rattling sound.

Just done with my service of 25K mileage outside. Nothing much have been done except changing the engine oil and the oil filter at the cost of RM87.00

Was wondering anyone of you here knows how to check the condition of the disc brake at the rear wheels physically? Mine nowadays is quite loud when stepping during dry and wet condition as well. sweat.gif
*
Impossible to check since our BLM rear is drum brake.

So nobody knows what this valve behind the accelerator is for?

My guess is a release valve when ur car is flooded. laugh.gif

I think is just a normal nut that stop ur pedal from travel too far.

Spot on, dude! I had a careful look this morning and it seems to be performing that function. Took off the nut and it's just a solid screw underneath.

Wow, didn't know this car has a secret rev limiter tongue.gif

By the way I've been tracking my fuel consumption lately and I think it's on the high side considering I have a manual gearbox, I get about 250 km per 25 litres. I wouldn't say I drive slow, but I don't accelerate hard and neither do I rev beyond 3000 RPM. Been using Mobil and Petronas RON97 for the past two refills (don't really care about brands, I just use which ever is convenient; I've also used Esso, Shell and Caltex in the past). There are some stretches where I can cruise at 60-90 km/h (Jelutong Highway and the Gelugor main road) but the rest is start-stop traffic. I just had my 1000 km service last Saturday. If I'm not mistaken, my consumption was more like 300+ km per 25 litres before serving. Hope it improves by 5000/10,000 km.
*
Since u said alot of start stop traffic, 10KM/L is consider ok adi.

It won't improve much or no improvement at all at 5k and 10k millege, at least this apply on me.

The car look isn't final yet, just some shots from certain angle, after fitter with plate no and rim i bet it will look differently, so no need to jump into conclusion now.

Honestly for current gen BLM, back in 3 years ago when i 1st saw the car from behind, i feel ugly due to narrow body and high ride with small wheel. But after that feel more and more acceptable.
