Hi everyone,
I'm gonna buy my first car soon, maybe end of this year or start of next year.
my choice is saga blm se manual metallic red, or inspira manual
erm... can anyone recommend me a good showroom to buy from? around KL area, and i plan to loan 9yrs then slowly reduce the amt and the yr.
i heard ppl said better dont buy car at year end cos the car value will be lower(2nd hand car dealer can cheat you and sell at higher price)
should i buy this year or next year?
*
If afford to buy Inspira why think about Saga? doh.gif

For pricelist and payment plan, please refer Proton edar website, there is loan calculator there.

hmm, local cars especially proton are a big joke in quality, so should i just own a cheap car like saga blm, then get a better car or just save money to buy better car like vios or honda city?
*
VIOS is a big joke in price for over RM80k. I rather spend on Inspira.

Guys, I am about to buy a BLM. However, the price quoted was a bit more than the price stated.

PROTON SAGA 1.3MT (M) B-LINE RM 36,498.00

I was quoted the price is 36,998. Any new acessories, etc?
*
No, the hopeless website still didn't change the price. The price quoted was true, +RM500 since this year without any additional accessories. doh.gif

You can consider Persona before Inspira.

maybe saga blm is best for me atm... then after 5 years i'll go for better car, hah, local made craps is best for a stepping stone to other better car, that's what proton for. no offense, my personal opinion.
*
If u have this kind of thought, good luck to you.

5 years is not short period, if u think u drive a crap car, even 1 month will let you suffer like hell.

My advise, instead of buying 'crap car', just go for 2nd hand T&H, good enu for you, else u will fall in love with this 'crap'.

just got a call my hire purchase has approved.. im going to get my B-line saga next week..

questions about the tyre, those ducaro are good? im thinking of getting michelin energy xm-1 inside. how much it's worth for those ducaro?

Added on November 23, 2010, 12:40 pmhow much is it to install reverse sensor? will it void my warranty?
*
Good for 6 months, as you know BLM is 6 months car ma...lol, but only apply on tyre.

U probably will get Silverstone Synergy M3 as well, anyway, both is sucks, hard, noisy and poor grip in wet, if can of course Michelin XM-1. Plan to change rim or not? only tyre?

guys, I got one question to ask..

I jus get my car not long ago, havent done 1000km first service, so I been told cant speed up my car to 100km/h now..

By the way, I wish to drive my car go back my hometown, muar this weekends, is it ok?

Or better don drive back first until I get my first services?

Need some advices here, thanks first..
*
For new car, constant speed and highway cruising is not the best way to break-in the engine.

most important thing is, 2nd airbag? abs? ebd?
if can include those i'm sure vios and city can gulung tikar d, proton engineers read this pls, instead of sqeezing your brains to cut cost and increasing more import duty to foreign cars smile.gif
*
Yes, it come with 2nd airbag and 4 power windows, but still no ABS and EBD, because if yes not Vios and City gulung tikar, but Persona from Proton itself. Only Persona H-line which >60k come with this functions, if BLM included all this and sell for <50k, who want to buy the car which is 10k+ more expensive for only 0.3L engine upgrade and slightly larger cabin from BLM? try to think about it.

you got the point dude, sigh, i think that's a good bye to saga se metallic red...cos new saga definitely better in many ways, and should be called the SE instead. i just asked a SA, they said the price might add 2k like that, and booking is available now.
*
add 2k from what? SE or current M-line?

Engine same, transmission same, i dun see better in many ways, only those accesories which aren't neccesary (except airbag).

that's why la, not to badname proton, but they really lack of innovation and marketing strategy. something lack in proton imo is passion. without passion food is tasteless...
all cars standards should have abs+ebd equipped nowadays. many carmakers have followed that and they succeed, but proton?come on la wey do something better other than price cutting to win our heart...
erm, ok, how much to mod the car for extra 2 power window, audio control on steering, and extra airbag for passenger? anyone know how much? if like that i'll go for current se

not so sure, but based on this article below they have low spec and premium, the article said rm3k increment but my SA said rm2k... your call
*
My guess 2k is too little for this major facelift, yes, i bet at least 3k.

Rear power windows for what? U always open ur rear windows? For me i nvm wind down more than 10 times since i bought my car 1 year ago.

If you really want that accesories, just go for the facelift, no point to mod aftermarket. For me i dun need that, thats why i stick with basic B-line and save money for another upgrade. brows.gif

lol persona has:
rear disk breaks;
multilink suspension;
better sound insulation; and
what u hav stated, larger cabin & boots.
with these, it increases lots driving comfort and safety than saga blm.
if i am proton, i will discontinue persona bline and have saga blm hline with dual airbags+abs+ebd
those with limited budget <50k will still go for saga blm but safety is increased, and yet those with enough budget will still go for persona <60k
*
In fact, manufacturer always link safety as 'accesories', if no money, no safety.

If i am going to choose accesories for my BLM Saga again, i will want:

1. Price as low as possible.
2. All Safety features included in all line, even B-line got dual airbag + abs + EBD.
3. I can sacrifice rear power windows, decent stock player with steering control, fog lamp, sport rim.

But it won't happen, i also dun know whats wrong with that. Cheap means no airbag or single airbag, well, for latter even Toyota did that.

Where did you hear that from? If I'm not mistaken I think the owner's manual recommends 110 km/h as the top speed for the first 1000 km. I took my car to KL when the mileage was about 600 km, stuck to the highway speed limit but occasionally touched 120 while overtaking. I don't think I've done any damage to my car wink.gif
*
Did i said it will bring any damage to the car if do so? not recommended, search using google, u can learn more.

+1 to that, though they got 4 power window, extra airbag and audio control on steering, it's still not worth paying and extra of rm3k to get those, here's my point:
1) how often you'll use the rear power windows honestly?
2) airbag can be installed.
3) steering, i think can change, but it doesnt hurt to move your arm a little further to adjust the players smile.gif

compared to SE, still worth it, leather seat, brilliant red, bumpers, grill, black hood, it makes me feel like the car that i'll be happily paying for
*
For me, if i really think that the power windows, airbag and ABS is must have, i willing to pay premium to get that, i like original fitted accesories, at least hassle free. The thing mentioned above is not plug and play like changing HU and speaker, u need to drill hole at the door panel, add switch, add wiring, unmount panel and dashboard, even need to modified to complete that. How many shops out there got decent skill do deal with that? Only ori tooling can make the thing perfect.

Advise to you, RM3k not enuf for u to add those things outside, if really want, get the facelift version. If want SE, let it be that, so far i didn't see any member at this club add these accesories aftermarket.

for me..i feel like standard 185/60/14 is better for comfort..dunno if this new set better in connering and high speed..coz i always drive 140-160kmh on plus hgway when balik kmpg biggrin.gif

Added on November 27, 2010, 2:23 pm1 more thing..just notice this morning..drive with 4 people inside(avrg 60kg/person) i can hear that my tyre hit fender when cross speedbump..always use that road but never happen before..what should i do? change spring/absorber? coz it will be worst if full load when balik kmpg sweat.gif
*
No offence.

You and the workshop should clearly know this issue before change to such extreme oversize tyre, but seems like u are noob enuf to be poisoned by ur bro and plus the workshop is totally irresponsible.

Even alot of ppl complain 195/55/R15 will hit fender with ori absorber and spring.

Now ur tyre sidewall is very thin, so u sacrifice the comfort, u will feel bumpy even with ori soft absorber and spring, i dun think you have more than 2 options in ur case.

1. Change to sport spring (stiff) and absorber, but you will feel riding hose after that. Ur interior plastic mounting will lose very fast due to bump.
2. Sell all ur rim and tyre and downsize to normal 14 or 195/50/R15., which is waste money.

You choose. doh.gif

'Normal' because all is like this. SC ppl like to say normal one. doh.gif 'abnormal' becos only BLM manual got this sound. doh.gif

Next time after press the clutch, wait 2-3s before engage to reverse gear, and change slowly, don suddenly engage, then u will get rid of this sound. It works on me.

Probably yes. They only recommend their part, other than that all are 'low quality', and will bring 'unknown consequences' to ur car. doh.gif shakehead.gif
