any sane, literate people would know that lah bro.
i'm asking, what's the benefit of moving apps to SD?
reduce lag or what?

EDIT: i know now what's the benefit. it allows practically unlimited number of apps that can be installed (depending on how many space u got in ur SD lah) it MAY improve loading of apps, but i'm not too sure about that. looking forward for froyo more than ever, now that i know about this. lol

other phone dont have big internal memory like we does, so to install lots of apps is kinda hard and limited, so that the use of that function. for us who have 2gb roms, i dont know, maybe it also can increase speed?? given that you have a fast memory card..

u answered my question, when i'm trying to post my finding. hahaha
yeah, we sure have more ROM than other android phone. 2GB if i'm not mistaken. hahaha but it will be great if we can extend that limit and go for unlimited storage for our apps, will it not? hopefully it can help reduce lag, provided that we use fast SD card.

well that app2sd kinda give us like unlimeted i think, i still cant fill up my 2gb roms(maybe flashing kinda contributing to that factor), the most i think i have gone is that i have 10 window in my app drawer.

Don't use auto killer, infact, I suggest you remove any autokiller, task killer or anything of that sort. Instead, configure android's own task manager by doing the following.

You have root access?

If you do, follow the following:

Download minfreemanager from market
Grant it super user access.

Enter the following memory levels:
Starting from foreground app to empty app, in these values
10, 16, 24, ,40,64,96

Once you enter these values, save it as a custom preset
You will need to apply these every time you restart the phone - this is a safety feature in case the phone has issues, so don't worry.

Once you have done this, you can check that it has been applied by using 'Android system info', go to 'system' under 'low memory kill levels', open the drop box and you will see the values you entered above.

Use this config for 2-3 days with your regular usage habits and report back if you feel any improvement.

I tried your method and it indeed speed/smoothen things up. There's another apps called "autokiller" which does the same thing + more features an it can also save and reboot custom setting. Thanks for posting this! thumbup.gif

Just the built in sd but I suggest better remove the external one before you start rooting.

just for fun? i don't think so, mate. some people said that most of SGS problems were fixed or WILL be fixed by european f/w.
this suggests that Samsung UK are always listening to customers feedback and REALLY commited to fix any problems, to name a few: GPS slow fix (i got this problem),  inadequate sound quality when using headphone (check XDA forum, a thread started by supercurio) and the famous "Lag problem"
then again, this is only a rumor (started by me, i might add)
*
since u already have your answer then why still ask? sweat.gif

ACTUALLY, it depends which firmware suits u well.some users say lag free on europe firmware but some users not...many user flash to asian/hk firmware because they believe the firmware fixed most of their problems..
i just stick with europe firmware coz mine is UK set

Only if you run ALL of them at once. But if you have them installed, but not running them, why would it lag? (unless all of them automatically launches itself on startup).
