yes, online from their website, around rm115 I think. not really bulky, but after u put the tough.case on, now it really looks like an apple 3gs, but still it is that good. let me tell, all the button fits perfectly, the phone also sits immaculately! hehe...i bought the.black one, damn sleek. it is sure tough n rugged. u also got the screen p free but dont bother as after I put it, it reduce the screen sensitivity, dont do it, I took it of after a few minutes as it makes swype n browsing a bit less fun.

Rizal77,
I have been eyeing that case for so so long. I tried talking to them via live chat. They told me it is not compatible with international version of Samsung galaxy s. sad.gif
In the end I bought capdase silicon from sunway pyramid.

can take few pictures and show us how its like? Maybe drop test video to see how tough is this tough case. ;P

I like the purple version btw.

I root my SGS becoz my apps GotToDo are freaking slow when adding a task.

After rooting + lagfix smooth like hell. XD

I also root to buy some apps on the market. Free apps come with ads are bugging me most of the time.

That's the reason I rooted. =]

Guys. Today I notice my SGS drain battery very fast. When I check battery usage, I found out cell standby use the most, 47%. anyone has similar experience?

In Samsung apps, I saw Samsung task manager the other day. But today the app is no more. Anyone know why?

for anyone who wants the Samsung task manager but couldn't find it in your Samsung Apps store, i just pull the apk and upload here..
just extract the zip file and install it using Astro..
*
Tried this but unable to install. download to laptop, unzip, transfer .apk to sdcard and try install using astro and root explorer but both fail.

btw, i notice that almost no one reply to my questions. i wonder why? Am i asking a noob questions? or am i being ignored?

here're the questions incase anyone miss them:

Anyone can enlighten me on calendar alarm and default calendar? it's driving me nuts.
01. How to change calendar alarm sound? I try finding the setting but there's is no option to change calendar alarm.

02. How to set google calendar as the default calendar? Or deactivate "my calendar". So that I don't have to always remember to click and choose calendar everytime I add event.

03. How to sync contact picture added to the phone contact to gmail contact?

Thank you very much! i enjoy being here and i believe everyone is friendly, kind and helpful to each other. the spirit of android! nod.gif

Well, it's difficult to answer because

'very fast' to you may not be 'very fast' to us.
Give us a time frame, in hours or minutes.

47% cell standby is normal if you left it alone and mixed with calls and some time with the screen on.

Calendar alarm sound has already been discussed in V1 or V2, it clearly states not changable.

As for default calendar, not sure. Try disabling the default one and enabling only the google one to show.

You sync contact picture using the link button.

Thanks for your feedback.

I've found a way to change the calendar sound. but need to root and use root explorer to replace a sound file.

I still dunno how to set the default calendar to google calendar. there's once i've done it accidentally but it reverted back to 'my calendar' after i reboot my phone.

Contact picture, i tried add in the phone and sync to google email contact. Only info sync, picture so not sync.
But, if i added the picture in google email contact, it sync to the phone. Anyone know how to sync both ways? so i can add pictures on the spot in the phone.

thanks again for your reply. I am really touch! rclxms.gif

bro, do u know how to sync sgs calendar (ie.alarm events) to google calendar ?
*
I am not sure the exact problem you have, but let me guess. You have sync your outlook calendar to google calendar using google calendar sync. Then sync the calendar items to your SGS. when you open the calendar item on your SGS, you cannot edit them. Am i right?

I have this problem. the solution is, I DELETE all calendar item sync from outlook and RECREATE them directly on google calendar. Everything works fine and i can edit calendar on my SGS.

I set calendar reminder as "pop-up" reminder and it sync OK. Even events created using my SGS will be transfered to google calendar.

edit: make sure you choose "Google calendar" when you create an event in SGS. Do not choose the default "My Calendar".

It's an internal silicone layer -> much like a regular silicone skin
and then add an ABS plastic shell on the back, like those plastic back plates.

Combine together and you get tough case from case mate.
*
the real question is how TOUGH is the tough case?

I ordered mine, waiting for arrival tongue.gif

previously i owned an OtterBox defender series case with my HP IPAQ 212. the case is really bulky and tough! protected with 3 layers of protection with a very good belt clip. Sadly, they dont have any case with SGS. TT___TT

Don't use auto killer, infact, I suggest you remove any autokiller, task killer or anything of that sort. Instead, configure android's own task manager by doing the following.

You have root access?

If you do, follow the following:

Download minfreemanager from market
Grant it super user access.

Enter the following memory levels:
Starting from foreground app to empty app, in these values
10, 16, 24, ,40,64,96

Once you enter these values, save it as a custom preset
You will need to apply these every time you restart the phone - this is a safety feature in case the phone has issues, so don't worry.

Once you have done this, you can check that it has been applied by using 'Android system info', go to 'system' under 'low memory kill levels', open the drop box and you will see the values you entered above.

Use this config for 2-3 days with your regular usage habits and report back if you feel any improvement.
*
I tried your method and it indeed speed/smoothen things up. There's another apps called "autokiller" which does the same thing + more features an it can also save and reboot custom setting. Thanks for posting this! thumbup.gif
