Noob.
Just bought my precious, precious SGS less than a week back.
I upgrade my Firmware to Froyo 2.2 and already rooted my phone - Last night.

Problems
1. Android market lags, and for some reason, the screen go blank just before u can install programs from the Market, so to proceed i have to press the power key everytime .... and i mean everytime.

2. Android market (again) and won't show some of the program i had installed previous to the new Froyo. eg - netscource, masjidnow, etc
- from the reading i find out that with froyo i cannot install "protected programs.

3. After the Froyo upgrade, everytime i start the phone, the TTS will say "New Message arrived" but no message whatsoever.

4. My phone cannot get to connect to 3g/HSDPA

That's for my problems for now, will be back if i find anymore problems

Reccommendations
1. All-I-need programs for my SGS with Froyo - rooted.

Wondering
1. Is the sleep/phone lock function in ur SGS is just too fast, and anywy to "slow: it down.

i use froyo 2.2 J2

1. no nothing installing.... but still goes ablank (new english word, ablank, perhaps :-P)

2. on my way, installing at moment. will inform if successful===> Woo Hoo, it did! Thanks silentser

3. no, sms programs. just the normal messaging. the problem starts after installing froyo.

4. still having the problem with 3g/hsdpa.


will formatting the internal sd card like kaeru said help??

Oh another thing... i installed Papago X5 with Malsing Maps
- as u initializing the program, it shows ur IMEI and also "register" and "trial"
- how and where can i get the code.

need help..

today i upgrade froyo from jp2->jp3
after that cannot root file, i use one click root.
in the recovery area, during installing in SD card, it said
"E:signature verificatin failed
Installation aborted"

anyone has this happen to them before on their SGS

- i was moving my mp3 from ext sd to my int sd by usingthe default program "My Files", it processed it and complete.
-> instead of moving it deleted the whole thing.... damn!!!!

ERm, i used MasjidNow Lite, first use GPS to detect where u are, the set Mazhab to Shafii, Calculation Methods to Umra al Quran
- it even has Qiblat compass

Froyo already out, but nt official Asia one, then one available is for Europe

Easily put
1. Android is the OS

2. Firmware is use version of os, like Windows Vista Service Pack 20

3. Rom is the files needed to install the Firmwire, comparable to Drivers.

Sayang la... i advise u to take 1.5 or 3gb plan one, anyhows..

Tips for "jaga-jaga" ur data
1. Try to use wi-fi as much as possible
2. Go to Market and download Netcounter and 3g Watchdog -> selalu2 check ur data usage

If u really want/thinking of upgrading to froyo, i suggest getting JP3 rooted version here

if u change ur APN type to MMS, u wouldn't be able to use the data, but still can mms.
if that is the case use MORE wi-fi la...

i register for the 3gb data plan.... so no worries. can online 24/7, unless my battery is dead...

try using 3g watchdog and netcounter to see ur data usage.
u can use ur data, but keep an eye out for the usage vigilantly, like almost every 2-3hours to be safe.
only use ur data plan for IM, others.... use wi-fi.
