QUOTE(Yan @ Sep 26 2010, 01:34 AM) yo .. nope not FA Wagen..mine is fr a members punya fren's gti. 3k for 50% tyre wear expensive lah.. i think Wagen got some arrangment can help source out GTI owners rims if u plan to upgrade... Yeah that is why I am not planning on getting those. Saw another for sale on zerotohundred, RM2500 for about 70-80% tyre wear. You wanted to tint your tail lights? Why not consider the R LED lights instead? http://www.modyourfast.com/?p=575

Didn't seem that obvious to me when I was driving it in Bangsar, especially between speed bumps and the car in front. Always managed to speed up at the slightest tap of the accelerator and easily overtook several cars as well going up the Bangsar hill along Lorong Maarof.

QUOTE(forextor @ Sep 28 2010, 10:15 AM) Guys.., how long is the waiting list for the Golf 1.4 TSI if I book today? I am planning to get the white one. It depends on where you booked it. I booked mine 1st week of September and its arriving at the end of October Also depends on the colour availability as well.

QUOTE(se_eugene @ Sep 28 2010, 10:29 AM) may i ask roughly how much u all pay for 1 month ? If you put a downpayment of RM15k and pay 3% for 5 years its RM2757.85/month If you put a downpayment of RM50k and pay 3% for 5 years its RM2087.02/month If you put a downpayment of RM75k and pay 3% for 5 years its RM1607.85/month If you put a downpayment of RM100k and pay 3% for 5 years its RM1128.69/month If you put a downpayment of RM150k and pay 3% for 5 years its RM170.35/month Also depends on your insurance, whether you can claim 55% NCB so the monthly figures above will vary.

The Polo would be a little cramp for 5 people but if they are all small sized then its ok. I had 5 people in the Golf MkVI GTI and its not really that comfortable either so I think the Polo would be a tad bit difficult. But if it is for children and all, then its fine. You can actually see the Polo at VW Wearnes Bangsar, its sitting in their basement Note that this is not their for sale model, its the stripped down bare version.

QUOTE(forextor @ Sep 28 2010, 02:09 PM) 10 days? That is fast!.. I am torn between a brand spanking new Golf 1.4 TSI or a used Mini Cooper S.. the Mini Cooper can be had anytime once loan is approved. Mini is small but its cheeky look is so appealing and will never become out-dated. Wife prefers the Mini but being a second had car of course it does not come with 5 years warranty like the Golf! My only gripe of the Golf is the interior is so unexciting, the Mini interior on the other hand always makes me smile.. Agree with you on that Personally I think the Mini has more character and I like the interior a lot. But the only one thing which made me go with the Golf is the fact that the Mini is 2 door and I am rather big sized so I am not comfortable sitting in a Mini. My friend also just gotten her new Mini Cooper S, drives like a dream and has loads of power as well.

QUOTE(eddie_al @ Sep 28 2010, 05:23 PM) they might be friendly, but i would feel "malu" somewhat ma. What i intended was, short list a few models that i have more interest & then focus the test drive to only those few. i guess i have a habit of "researching" stuffs i buy before i actually field test them. No need feel malu man, its our right as a consumer to decide what we want to buy. Whether we perform loads of research or buy on impulse. Most of the time, they (the producers) want us to do the latter

QUOTE(dARKaNGEl @ Sep 29 2010, 12:53 AM) paultan got article about ABT already open here in KL. would b interest to see any of u going for ECU tuning to squeeze more power from the 1.4TSI although i don't own VW personally Yeah the invitation was extended to all members in the Volkswagen Golf Club Malaysia for the launch last night. If I am not wrong, the tuning package starts from RM6.3k onwards. Found more details here about the various packages. http://www.wemotor.com/blog/2010/09/larges...y-federal-auto/http://www.wemotor.com/blog/wp-content/upl...09/ABT-Golf.pdfFor the Golf 1.4, tuning to 210hp and 290Nm http://www.wemotor.com/blog/wp-content/upl...I-PriceList.pdfI hope that they manage to get an agreement with VW Malaysia so that with ABT tuning, the warranty won't be voided. QUOTE(kikikukiki @ Sep 29 2010, 07:17 PM) yup... agree 100%. the TD car i had was very eager to lunge ahead at the slightest prod of the accelerator and the brakes were very very responsive, it takes a while to get used to. if you do all your TDs back-to-back betweeen cars in the same category there is really no comparison... the golf literally whacks each one of them in every single area. my only gripe is... what? no electric seats for the driver??? at first that was a problem for me too, no electric seats but then i spoke to my client who drives a 5-series and he says that electric seats are overrated. Pros - cool and you get to store all your seat settings - better adjustment capabilities Cons - when it breaks down it is costly to repair - if you get into an accident and the car battery is cut off, you can't move the seat. A case where firemen had to use tools to free my client after he got into a major accident

QUOTE(azxel @ Oct 4 2010, 12:15 AM) I personally found the VW Beetle's seats more comfy than the VW Golf but that's about it. The VW sales people told me some time back that they're closing the VW Beetle plant (cant remember where) for (cant remember how many) months for upgrade/renovation works so they won't be any more new beetles rolling out till the plant is up again. Could it be that they are going to release a new VW Beetle hence they are trying to get rid of the current existing stock?

QUOTE(sonyman @ Oct 11 2010, 11:06 PM) So fiesta is not as good as polo or golf. Polo not as comfortable as fiesta, and golf is too bloody expensive. Nothing in between kah? Polo seriously nice looking. daily 1 hour drive i think it is ok. long distance tolong lah sakit belakang loh... Golf very nice. Maintenance until pokai. Damm confuse. in the end end up with the Vios. what the heck. Well it depends on what you mean by in between, if you are talking about prices, since the Polo at RM110k and the Golf 1.4 at RM160k both OTR with insurance, there are plenty of cars in between but mostly from the Japanese makers. Unless you can find a good 2nd hand Golf MkV if you want a sporty feel but if you want to have the whole european marque, you can get a fairly newer 2nd hand BMW 1-Series.

QUOTE(eddie_al @ Oct 12 2010, 12:29 PM) how does the 308T or 308VTi seats when compared to both VW's offering? just wondering if anyone has compared them. thx! Hrm, hard to gauge because I only sat in the 308 once and the Golf a couple of times. But I do know that the Golf's seat isn't that exactly comfy but maybe it gets better after more usage

Ok, I was at the VW showroom earlier and sat inside the Polo. Now I understand why people say that it isn't comfortable. Yeah I have to agree the fabric seats are a little on the harder side of things. But it gets some getting used to I guess.
